Cozy game with a variety of tasks you can focus on or delay as you like. The core loop is repetitive but the variations you encounter within each type of activity make up for it and keep things feeling fresh. For example, the World Seeds randomly generate locations with a different look and feel although the core tasks in each location are the same. The game incorporates - gardening, pets, city building, and very light platforming/puzzle solving to advance the major plot points. The story reveal is mostly predictable from the start of the game, so you must really like the core loop of either too-easy town management or gardening -- this is important! You MUST like the gardening/cleanup and/or town management elements of the game enough to like repeating it. Otherwise the game will just be a boring slog. Despite the procedural generation to make every playthrough "different", there's not much point in actually playing through more than once. Encountered only one serious bug so far, and it's an annoying one -- when you collect an achievement, the game might lock up with no inputs recognized. So save your game before picking up achievements. Don't rely on Autosaves since you don't really know how much progress you'll end up rolling back with an autosave.

Wish i could give this a neutral review because its not bad, but not really fun either. Its one of those games that has a very cool idea and some fun, casual gameplay with some mild platforming and puzzle elements, but it lacks in execution. Simply said: it is shallow, simple and bland, many gameplay elements lack depth. Like you can build "worlds" that once there are stationary resource mines that you visit now and then to gain the resources. But resources.. dont do much. You sometimes find materials like wood stoon iron, copper that say they are used for things... but all they do is yield "elements" that are the actual resources. It is extremely easy to have immense surpluses to the point of making the resources mechanic almost obsolete as soon as you have played 6 hours. You build "towns" that only serve to get unlocks through population and happiness. (the unlocks being next town districts, which act as totally separate towns) Building a flour mill does nothing except make the miller happy to count towards the happiness. the cafe the same. No one goes there except the barista. The bakery just has the employee and no one ever buys a pie, and the baker doesnt use flower from the mill. All the town expansion does is driving back a dark force called "the withering" This is a nice colorful, casual game that has lots to do but nothing that really matters much. After building a few worlds and expanding the first town, you have enough to never bother with all that and build all the towns. until the end. After 22 hours in i am kinda bored and just play it off and on to maybe one day see what happens if you end the withering. Its basically like a simple mobile game. If you do get it, get it on a heavy sale. Not worth more than 10 bucks. At a low price it can be a thumbs up if what i described is your thing.

This game is absolutely precious and sugary sweet. The graphics are beautiful and so is the story. It has little to no learning curve and there are literally NO frustrations. That is almost unheard of in a game. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who just wants to zone out...enjoy pretty colors and let your mind wander. Pure relaxation. Even the sounds are comforting, non-intrusive and gentle. Meditative sounds like minecraft. I love this game. I can't remember how much I paid for it, but I know it was on sale during one of the big sales on steam. Give it a try if you're looking for a cute items collector game. It's one of those. Really awesome.

I was looking for a stress free, colorful story based game to play and this game fits the bill perfectly. You grow and create worlds and towns with different elements and almost no enemies. Sometimes you don't know what kind of world you will create because there are so many combination. There is just enough exploration so that it is not overwhelming but still engaging enough. There is something satisfying about eliminating the toxic elements of each world you create and bringing to life plants, colors, creatures and landscapes and creating bonds with the creatures those worlds attract. Would be an excellent game for kids as well.
