PSVR2/PC, Looks and sound great. I refunded (will purchase again later in the development cycle) because I couldn't interact with any in-game items. During the introduction I couldn't interact with the potion or sword. I tried my best punching the skeletons, which was pretty fun and looked great but impossible to move forward. I will keep this title on my radar as I am sure it'll be great on release.

Damn they hook and bait you with this game, 10/10 at first and then it drops you like a rock. 6 months and no content update, the first boss is also the last boss until there is a content update. Such a great idea and concept, I pray someone comes along and does the same thing but much better and more content. Sadly it's 3/10 with the content available.

This game has potential and there is a good bit here, although it does have it's issues so let's go through those first: [*]The weapons feel floaty, to the point where I found the spear utterly useless because it was way harder than it should've been to aim. [*]The damage, health, and speed jump from the hollow eqsue enemies to the armored ones was jarring, their health being especially spongy. [*]The level system is, odd, taking a lot of Matter (this games currency) for a measly 1 point of Vit, which feels like unnecessary padding, it doesn't even explain what the stats are meaning you have to guess based off of knowledge of other action rpg's/souls-likes. [*]The audio settings keep resetting upon starting the game, which while minor does get annoying when first thing I have to do everytime I open the game I have to go into the audio settings and drop them down. [*]The hand tracking is interesting, never have I played a VR game that gives me the experience of having my forearms come directly out of my shoulders, which does kill immersion a little whenever I check my health. [*]As far as I'm aware there is no way to check your stats, which makes the 1 point per level more useless info, because you can't tell what they were prior to leveling Now for the things I think this game does well: [*]The atmosphere feels suitably Souls, though it could do with a bit more color, as Dark Souls 2 & 3 had pretty vibrant palettes, 2 especially, and yet they felt like dying worlds, hell even Dark Souls 1, which had decently muted colors, had a decently colorful palette, and wasn't just gray. [*]It very much has the gameplay of a souls-like, maybe a bit closer to Souls 2 or Demons Souls due to the limited healing items, but the gameplay very much feels like souls but VR. [*]There's something about it that makes it hard for me to give up when I hit a brick wall, it makes me want to keep pushing, till I break that wall, much like the Souls games, which is good, it means they've at least figured that part out, the part that makes you want to keep coming back. Overall, while I have a bit more negative feedback to offer instead of positive, I'll recommend it, because it hits the vibes and feel of a Souls game, and just needs polish, honestly out of all the gripes I had, the weapon handling is the biggest one due to how important it is for this kind of game.

This is an incredible game paying homage to Dark Souls 1. The developers have done an amazing job setting colors, lighting, atmosphere, structure and enemy designs to match the essence of DS. The mechanics and weapon variety in the game is stunning. And this is just the beginning of VR gaming development! The only criticism I have is that I enjoyed it so much that I was left wanting more of it! I hope more is coming...soon. Cheers!

Okay. I initially had a bad impression of this game. The very first couple fights feel a little silly where you wail on targets with little damage or effect. It didn't catch my attention and I left the game sitting with 1.5 hours in it. Recently another vr game crashed mid-playthrough and i decided to give this one another try. The trailers, bosses and areas still looked interesting if I could just get through the opening "souls" curve and start feeling comfortable. During the random retry i doubled my playtime and got hooked. I stuck to the old "souls" strategies of careful and slow play. I made progress, found new weapons, and started to gain levels. Enemies would get staggered from my focus in strength, and my play style started to really show up in the game. I finished the day with 3 hours in with a new weapon that looked cool and made me excited to find more. The next day i dumped five hours into the game and reached the end of the available content. The bosses were intimidating when i found them, and I felt rewarded and accomplished when they were beaten. The final available boss took me many attempts and many weapon swaps until i found my solution. The different areas were cool to explore, and I am excited for the new areas in the next chapter. Like other "souls" games this has a slow start, but when it gets going its a real treat. The weapon variety keeps me interested even while i have covered all of the released content. This game has become an excellent part of my VR library and I am now following the development. I hope the game gets the attention it deserves. Cheers to the developers. This may be my first review on steam, but this game deserved it.
