A stereotypical Casual Hidden Object Point & Click Adventure game. Not exactly thought-provoking. Only take a few hours to fully complete. Mostly a bit of leisurely wholesome fun that doesn't take itself too seriously.

A fun HOG, but don't expect a captivating plot or eye-popping graphics. While the story is alright the pacing is all over the place and the dialog will have you constantly asking: "Who talks like that?" The scenes are beautiful and the music provides great ambiance without being overly obnoxious. However the animations are very clunky giving all the human characters a very uncanny valley effect. The puzzles are fun and challenging enough without being too frustrating. So if your looking for a game that forces you to focus yet also lets you turn off your brain, you could do a lot worse. Just take it for what it is. A cheep puzzle game that can make you feel clever while you relax for awhile.

Another great game in the Grim Legends series. I've enjoyed all 3 games! :D Love the twist on the traditional fairy tale story, with fun mini games, great HOPs, and tricky bits in between to stump you! I'm really glad I played the first run through on Expert, it was fun trying to figure out where to go next sometimes when it wasn't obvious! Fun grabbing all the achievements after the first playthough too. 10/10!

Fun HOG, although the first one is better. The overall design and graphics of 'Song of the Dark Swan' is inferior, the plot is not bad but the pacing is a bit weird, I did not connect with it as much. The animations are very clunky too. The puzzles are still fun, not too difficult, I'd say on the same level as the first one. I'd recommend it on sale.

I kind of forgot how beautiful this game was. Both the backgrounds and the cutscenes I thought were very high quality. Not that the first one wasn't, but it looked so crisp and sharp, I was really struck by how much of an improvement it looked like compared to the first one. The story may or may not be related to the first Grim Legends game. There is a scene right in the intro which features a familiar voice, so it's possible this is another kingdom in that world or some alternate world, but this never seems to be confirmed in the story at all. I did like the story, I found it to be more enjoyable than a lot of other similar games I've played. Which is not to say that those games are bad, but this one has more characters in it, it has some more plot points and pacing in it than some other games. The aesthetics of the game too I really liked, the idea of these two kingdoms both related to birds. You also get various fun helper pets similar to the cat from the first game, and I liked how they would changed based on the location and that they could help with different tasks. The game has both collectibles and also a collectible indicator in the HUD which I appreciated. I got stuck in a few places but was able to puzzle it out. Not the worst I've had, but definitely I remember at least 2 or 3 spots where I was at a loss for what to do. Some of this might have been because I was on expert difficulty which doesn't use a lot of visual hints. There is an achievement for the game to be beaten on expert difficulty, so keep that in mind if you're trying to clear all of the achievements in one playthrough, which is possible if you're careful to check for the collectibles. Some games require a second playthrough with mahjong or dominos instead of hidden object puzzles, the first Grim Legends game did, but this one does not, so if you like that you're out of luck here. This game I think is a bit longer than that other game though, and so that might be why they didn't add an extra game mode. There is a bonus adventure included (actually in a way there are TWO bonus adventures!) so I enjoyed that as well. Overall I liked this game, a solid entry that was find to play and that I would easily recommend.
