This is a game specifically designed for people who fantasize about painting their grandmothers blue. And then, I dunno, fighting them.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on //good amount of action and special effects cons: //some difficult battles/boss battles //some overpowered enemies //some enemies have unfair attack moves that are difficult to block/evade //over excessive non story relevant dialogue //some characters are better than others //some difficult button attack moves //may require leveling up your character/getting better gear/upgrading your gear/lowering difficulty settings/character training //gathering resources are a grindfest //good game Personal Suggested Purchase Price: $0.99 Or Less During Sale

If you want a good single player fighting game, buy this instead of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising. The RPG mode here is perfect if you enjoy playing solo and don't care about online fighting.

GranBelial in Fantasy Versus Everyone So yeah, I figured that after Rising its finally time to actually play the game lol. The review would be mostly about RPG Mode since I already played online and arcade enough to tell you this: Its mid - it really is. The arcade's AI is boring. The gameplay is slow, the AI just cant play the game because its THAT slow And the online - is actually still having a few people in there lol, playing just now - although with pretty rough ping. But I recall - this game felt weird - it was simply too easy for an anime fighter, heck, even Strive was more complicated to play - yet people found a way how to actually do pretty cool combos. Crazy. Still - the game died pretty quickly in the online part...blame covid. Or society Idk. ________________________ The plot of this game - some would say its non-canon. But I'd say - its pretty interesting way to implement a new story to an already existing universe. Basically, new villain is introduced and he managed to screw up with reality so bad - it basically reimagined the whole events of GranBlue fantasy. Add Multiverse Merging to this, some sick Actual Boss Battles - and you've got yourself a pretty good Story Mode. Not gonna lie - the beginning was boring - you just fight various mobs on 2D screen and thats it - occasionally playing a parody of "normal" mode aganist other characters But then the game brings up Big Bosses, Epic music and a Tower of Babel mode - which is 100 floors of really fun battles I legit had FUN with this game - its simply amazing. That reminds me...I need to play JRPG genre again sometimes - those games are FUN. Between each mission you gear up your weapons, you character is levelled up automatically, you level up your weapons, place them in slots - standart JRPG stuff - you get the idea In battles you can play solo/with AI partner/with a buddy using 2-nd controller/actual online coop And thats pretty much it - pretty straightforward - with some extra ideas. Although I can totally understand why they cut most of this stuff from Rising. Because its just feels weird to have an RPG Mode in your damn fighting game. Finally, Final Fantasy's composer did a great job with the music on this one Visuals are still looking great The design of most of the characters is great although...too modern for some....I guess....*Looks at Ladiva, Caggy and actually Belial* Still - since Rising is out - I dont think this game can offer anything else except its RPG Mode - even with that - I doubt most players would be interested in that. TL;DR: The game baits with its visuals - really cool anime style Again - pure aesthetic pleasure in visuals and music With great characters to pick from (if you have DLCs) Great RPG mode but boring AI in Arcade The gameplay is too basic and Im already zzzzzz....... Online is mostly dead Probably a bad idea to buy it since there's Rising But Rising is expensive as hell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLMgM4YF6wc SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM YOUR NAME OUT TO THE EDGE OF THE SKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Granblue has been described to me as the beginners fighting game and I can't help but agree. For someone new, figuring out what they like and don't like about it works as a great gateway to figuring out what type of fighting games they'll like playing. My biggest complaint is that neutral interactions are overly lengthy for a footsie's based game and over half the raster is dlc. I do like being able to do dust loops off of a dragon summon though.
