Gorogoa is an elegant evolution of the puzzle genre, told through a beautifully hand-drawn story designed and illustrated by Jason Roberts. Winner of Debut Game at the 2018 BAFTA Games Awards, as well as Best Mobile Game and the Innovation Award at the GDC 2018 Choice Awards.

Gorogoa is a puzzle, hand-drawn and indie game developed by Buried Signal and published by Annapurna Interactive.
Released on December 14th 2017 is available on Windows and MacOS in 17 languages: English, French, German, Spanish - Spain, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese - Brazil, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Italian, Korean, Arabic, Dutch, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese and Turkish.

An enjoyable puzzle game that can be done in one sitting. It's a point and click style game where you have to solve countless puzzles to progress. The puzzles felt fair and balanced that it provided just enough of a challenge to test you without feeling frustrated. The hand drawn art is beautiful and the way the puzzles are done is unique and clever. However, the simple game play and short playtime, i cannot recommend buying this at full price, so wait until it's on discount.

The puzzles are intricate yet rewarding, and the narrative unfolds in such a thought-provoking way. I highly recommend this game to everyone. Gorogoa is an incredibly well made game with stunning graphics and innovative gameplay. This may look like a simple puzzle game on the surface but every frame of this game was made purposefully with complex details. You move tiles over each other to create the story, which does so well in telling the story that does not bore you. Gorogoa is so highly rated for a reason. Games by Annapurna Interactive always have such amazing visuals. Definitely recommended!

ā€œGorogoaā€ can be best characterized as a 2D multi-dimensional puzzle-adventure about enlightenment, and a terrible price paid for it. Story is non-linear and is splintered into different stages of life of the main protagonist, bound together by common pursuit for knowledge; it may seem confusing and fragmented at the beginning, but it starts making sense toward the end when it culminates. On the technical side, game features colorful and meticulously drawn graphics and quieted but mesmerizing music. Gameplay is about literally traveling through time and space via composed, overlaid or inlaid pictures, solving abstract puzzles and leaving it up to you to deduce the story and the meaning; it will last for about an hour or so, with a few replays in case youā€™re an achievement hunter and initially miss some. As a puzzle game, ā€œGorogoaā€ definitely stands as above-average, and has gained number of rewards during the year of its release, and shouldnā€™t be missing in the collection of any puzzle-lovers.
