Hello MIkasa here! So far I love the theme of the game, feels like DBD, includes 360 jukes, love the cyber punk feel to it and leveling up my individual characters. Can't wait to see how this game grows I think it will do quite well. I know its going to explode in popularity. Use my referral code: QJ2MMKARTDW4 (and reach level 15)

Coming into early access, I was a bit apprehensive because of previous asymmetrical games I have tried outside of Dead by Daylight. Even after just a few hours, the fear of wasting my time and money was put to rest. The game runs smoothly and has little to no hiccups. In the past week I have encountered 3+ updates to the game, all of which noticeably improved my experience. It was a clear sign that the developers of this game listen and are seasoned in this craft and are actively communicating with the community that supports them. My favorite thing about this game so far is easily it's style. The designs of characters and maps in this game are second to none, having a lot of variation and diversity. I love that all the characters have different backgrounds, places of origin and nationalities, along with various languages and voice acting to back up their unique personalities. There are (currently) 6 extractors /survivors/ and 3 Watchers /killers/ with another Watcher on the way this month. No character is like any other character and you will find its easy to pick a favorite that suits your style of play. While experiences will obviously vary, I found no issues with 3 of the dedicated servers. Connecting to both the US and EU server just fine, and to CN with minor, forgivable lag. It is also extremely easy to connect to any of them on the fly, the option being right in the main menu of the game, instead of having to go through a Steam regional change. If you're tired of being face camped in DbD and slugged till 30% in SaS you'll be happy to know that this game combats that with it's 'death' mechanic. No more sitting or waiting idly by while your team struggles to save you, in Gold Express half of the self surviving is on your shoulders. You can actively move while in dying state at regular running speed, traversing the environment as if you were alive. It's on you to find a teammate whose willing to help you get back on your feet. This also combats tunneling, something that's often harder to counter in other asymmetrical games. One of the main features of this game is the ability to manipulate the map to your liking. Both Extractors and Watchers can put up barriers (both high and low) in various location on the map, making each game unique to the players that take the time to set it up. Are you playing against a Geisha? Set the barriers low to counter her slide attack. How about a Warden? Place up barriers close together so it eats through his charges when he uses his ramming lunge. And it works vice versa, allowing the Watchers to counter to their unique kit of abilities. Gold Express runs on an energy feature. Each character, both Extractor and Watcher, are given a set number of energy that refills to a max over time. Using fast vaults and slides will eat through this energy, in addition to using it to speed up healing or objective time. In the case for the Watchers, it is also consumed with using special abilities. Managing your energy is a skill that you will learn over time to master but is easy to understand and be aware of right at the start. The pacing of the match can vary and during each game various enhancements will drop randomly on the map, giving unique perks to the person holding them. These enhancements can be collected on both sides and also be denied to the other party. You can either equip it to help yourself or destroy it, denying it to the other side completely. The enhancements vary in effect and potency, ranging from the speed of which you build barriers to the ability to detect the enemy once an objective is complete. There is a lot I could cover in terms of how a game flows from the start where you choose your spawn location to the end and on how you can escape, but I think that part is best left to the experience. And also... the little tricks you can play as a Watcher in the game. It's a lot to fully explain, and much better to just jump in to. While I personally find this game to be amazing, it isn't without it's faults. A lot of frustration can be chalked up to lobby wait times, though it's not really a development issue. You may have to change your region depending on the hour of day you decide to play. You may experience some imbalance issues, namely on the Watcher side. As of right now, one Watcher is consistently more played than the other two, and while I have had difficult games against all Watchers, one is a seen as more desirable to play as. I like that each character is unique in having their own skills, but if you like to play 1 character all the time with the same skills as another character, ie, the perk system in DbD, this may not be the game for you. Though I encourage you to try it regardless. And that's really what it boils down to. Is this game worth your hard earned money? Yes, it 110% is. Truthfully, I feel I committed robbery buying what I think is easily a $40 game for $15. It's given me many enjoyable hours of playtime and will surely give me more. If you want something fresh that takes the best elements elements from Dead by Daylight, Soul at Stake, Death Garden and Deceit, you would be doing yourself a solid by adding this game to your library. Thank you for reading this rather lengthy review (Its my first one) and again, I hope you give this wonderful gem a shot. If you've purchased this game, let me be the first to welcome you to the Arena.

I've played this game LOTS even though i had work and limited time to play with, and i've gotten the hang of it pretty easily. Now, I don't write reviews often, but when i do, i got stuff to say: First thing first, people LOVE to compare it to other games like DBD and whatnot, and I honestly dont enjoy doing that. The thing that this game resembles Dead by Daylight is just... that it's a 4v1 asymmetrical game. Now, some things have changed since I played in the tests, so keep that in mind. Gameplay stuff: "Survivors" are called Extractors, their objective is to download Data Cubes from Data Miners (Orange thingies) and upload them to Data Warehouses (blue thingies), and of course, not get caught by the Watcher and escape. "Killers" / "Hunters" are called Watchers, their objective is to catch Extractors, either by wasting their time (making them lose their Data Cubes by hitting them and then collecting their Data Cubes + adding viruses to Data Miners/Warehouses) or killing extractors directly. Everyone shares a mechanic called Energy. You use energy for everything -> FAST vaulting or crouching, FAST uploading/mining, FAST destroying / making walls and abilities, but if you're an extractor, you alert the watcher. Now if you noticed, i capitalized the word fast , you can do all those things normally, and you won't alert the watcher. (this information is useful trust me). Of course even if abilities use energy, i think its the only thing that wont alert the watcher when being used, knowing how to use your energy is very useful, and I think a core knowledge/mechanic? of this game. Extractors have Shields and Health. The shield regenerates, but the health doesnt. The Watcher has to go through the shields to down an extractor. There are no hooks, or chairs, or whatever, the Watcher has to execute the Extractor when they're downed, and when you get executed you lose some of your Max Health and then turn into a hologram of sorts and you have to find your teammates to get revived, if you don't you slowly lose more of you Max HP and eventually die permanently out of that game. If you get revived, you have a little bit of Shield, and of course some of your Health perma damaged. An extractor has approx. i say, two executions off dying completely on their third execution, if saved on time. Once in hologram form, the Watcher cannot see or hear the Extractor. But if the Executed Extractor is being healed/revived, they are revealed. (best time to use energy btw), and so it makes Camping after executing pretty much inexistent. This game has a lot of survivor sided maps. The only thing that absolutely bothers me are the map layouts. There's a map with 3 floors that shouldnt even exist. Hitboxes are iffy. They NEED to work on them asap. Pretty stuff: The style is interesting.. Cyberpunkish, man vs machine. The designs aren't all my cup of tea, but they fit with the game's style pretty well. Not hyper realistic, but not super cartoony. They're always working on their optimization and visibility on their objectives. (Y'all have no idea how hard it was to find a data warehouse before the recent updates). Audio stuff: Kinda limited, it's neat when you encounter them fresh, but this is something they need to work on a bit more. Most bugs I encountered were audio bugs. Captions wouldn't fit in with what the characters were saying all the time, and sometimes some characters were louder than others. The main menu song can get annoying if you hear it for a long time, but the last part might be just me. These are all at MOST mild annoyances, and shouldnt really hinder the game too much. They fixed some bugs, but not everything's perfect. A super nice thing that not all games have of in this type of genre, is Subtitles. Everyone has subtitles, when someone gets hit, when someone finishes uploading a cube, even the announcer has 'em. Pretty cool. Now that that's out of the way, and you kinda get the gist of what's going on, is it worth it? Yes .. IF you have an open mind about it. This game is still a baby, it's still trying to figure itself out on how to balance things, and what to add to make the experience better, but do I really have to tell you this? It's in early access. So far, i've had lovely experiences with it. (Aside of a few bugs and what not) The community is nice so far (a lot of 'Survivor mains'. But it could be worse) The staff is very lovely and receptive. Very communicative. They listen to feedback and respond quite fast. I do encourage people to join their discord. I bought this game because I enjoyed it, and I'm a pretty iffy person when it comes to buying early access games. I recommend it for people that enjoy asym. games.

Having played about 15 hours of the beta version, I can say the following things about this game. It does have interesting (in a good way!) game mechanics: - Collecting datacubes before you can upload them (the much asked "second objective" that "other games" [*cough* DBD *cough*] seek to implement) - Losing datacubes when you get hit by the watcher - Becoming a ghost when you get executed (hence, the chance of getting "hook camped" becomes zero, but of course it does have some drawbacks) - Escaping by beaming up to the flying truck (no more easy escapes by just touching the exit(gate) (Hello DBD and Deathgarden, I'm looking at you!). It has a nice cyberpunk-ish Artstyle, that is not too cartoony (which is good). It's the much appreciated fresh breeze in the asymmetrical survival genre. I really hope this game gets the attention it deserves, because I think it does have a lot of potential.
