one of the very few good gladiator games and the fighting system reminds me of "swords and sandals" :)

A good and fun game that needs more work to streamline some of the more tedious parts. I plan on finishing the game but there is excess downtime in the game that feels out of place. On it's face you technically manage the gladiators but the management aspect is fairly lite. I would like to see that part fleshed out more so instead of HAVING to do every fight manually (for the most part) I could make those automatic and spend more time doing the managing part if I decided to. My strongest gladiator is the one I actually care about...all the others are there just to make me money. Maybe not the intended method of people playing the game but I wouldnt be surprised if that is generally how it's done. The arena parts are fun enough to trial and error what works best against the different enemies you will fight against. I do wish there was a way to respec a gladiator as for better or worse you do get attached to them. So if you mess one up you either have to deal with it or sell them and try again.

If you like your games complex and difficult this isn't for you. If you like it fun and simple this is excellent. And for a good price, it's pretty cheap for what you get.

Obviously in Alpha but the game lacks subsistence it becomes boring and repetitive after the first couple hours. Couple things that would make the game better. 1. Improving Contracts - They don't really matter, why send your gladiator on a 3-7 day long contract when you could just send him into an arena everyday to earn you 3 times the amount of money. 2. Simulated Fights - The Win percentages are terrible, not sure how they are calculated. For example, if the game calculates that I have 60% chance or greater to win the fight its still pretty likely that I'll lose one of the three or four bouts. But If I were to control my character I would end every one of those fights with more than half health. Something is missing in the formula. 3. Weapons: Need way more variety and rarity for each type with different bonuses, just having the boss weapons isn't enough. Or maybe a skill to increase a specific weapon class bonus. 4. Death: If your gladiator loses a fight they should have a chance to die. I lost a quite a few times trying to get away with the simulated fights and no one died. I don't see the point in keeping more than 2 or 3 gladiators if none of them die. Enjoyed the game still, but by the last arena that's currently available it became a train/rest loop.
