Could be great but the devs released the game in a sloppy state, took two weeks to fix GAME BREAKING problems and then took three months to fix major annoyances all while the game lost any and all players. After being mostly silent since launch, they wait till the game has less than 100 players to launch ranked mode. It really had no chance with such lazy developers and in hindsight was a obvious cashgrab scam. Still fun getting to experience it the few times it worked, like paying a solo developer for putting up a temporary private server, except its a major company...

Loved it the first time it launched. Still love it. But fix your servers. Please. Im getting to lobbies and im lagging so much that its borderline unplayable. Wont thumbs down because I want this game to succeed so I can keep playing it. But please, please, please fix the lag. Edit: Im gonna circle back to this review after some thought. Theres no reason this game should perform how it is. Its not like they made a brand new game. Its more or less the same game. All they needed to do was not have shit servers. Its becoming more frustrating. Lag and losing progress are insane. Come on guys. Edit 2: I am again updating my review. The lag has only improved very slightly. Its not noticable on some characters. But then when you play a combo character like Wu, its annoying. Hopefully they put more servers in. Im currently out of the US for a few months and the lag is insane. But my friends in the states only complain about lag occasionally. Edit 3: Devs? Please change it so that the default queue doesnt have all roles selected. The game finds a balanced team only for the tank to swap off and pick Tripp or something.

Back in 2017 when this game was shutdown by the whole drama between Arc & Microsoft, we seriously lost one of the most unique hero shooter MOBAs ever conceived. It had a vibrant unique art style, strategic game-play, and dynamic maps that changed as the match winded near it's final hours. The game legit stayed in my mind for years, as I always had a niggling question of "What if it WAS successful back then? Would there be any game in the future that will ever replicate this unique IP?" I remember it was legit a labor of love, as the studio Motiga tried their best to secure funding to keep the game afloat. If I remember correctly, the devs even worked on the game without pay to try to keep their vision afloat. Imagine my surprise when 7 years later, this game is BACK, BABY! I was extremely hyped for a new generation of players to experience this fast paced combat & colorful, personality filled roster. I'll be honest - it's definitely not perfect. I'm pretty sure it's legit made from old 2017 spaghetti code that renders it extremely hard for the current dev team to have a quick turnaround in fixing things. Multiple issues include: 1. Matchmaking bug where it can throw you into an empty queue 2. Certain achievements being unachievable due to reworks on old abilities or rebalancing 3. Minor UI bugs not displaying the correct text for certain things 4. Certain character abilities on their talent trees being complete trap picks or just doesn't work (Kajir is a huge victim for this issue). This mostly applies to the newer characters, while the older characters from the original roster works almost completely fine. Yes, yes, these sound like horrible, game-breaking bugs... and I must agree, I'm actually pretty dissapointed that this game was released in this state. I was expecting more polishes done on this rerelease but the truth of the matter is... it's legit a release of the 2017 game, be it for the better or worse. It's the same high octane wild combat MOBA game from that scrappy old Motiga dev team, with all their weird-ass bugs the day the servers shut down. The main biggest additions are legitimately a fun fast-casual mode of "Rush" which really captures the feel of a 5-10min brain-dead hero shooter match. It's definitely a different pace from the old "Clash" mode, but it's still refreshing to have some new modes to cater to the faster game style of modern shooters. Clash is still available, but locked behind the account level 10 - thus forcing newcomers to get used to Rush mode first before engaging in the slower, more methodical gamemode. There's also 2 new characters, which are fun... but definitely pretty buggy. They're not unplayable buggy, but just... head scratching buggy as in "Is this skill supposed to work this way? Is this the correct intended cooldown? etc." I know I sound horribly negative, but I am legit pointing these things out so that player's expectations will be leveled. All in all, I am confident that the more dire bugs will be ironed out as quickly as the devs can, and I'm looking forward to wherever this re-release of a game will go. It's risen from the ashes for a second chance, and I'm going to ride it down to the bitter end. The reason is because this game is JUST SIMPLY FUN. It's got a high skill ceiling for most of the characters, with a heavy emphasis on timing & knowledge of when to make plays and when to hang back and be defensive. If you can stomach the bugs, I say definitely give it a chance, and eagerly look forward to the fixes that I'm sure are coming. There's always a joke whenever my friends play the bigger games like OW or CoD whenever we hit these horrible bugs - "Don't worry, X is a small indie company." However, for this game, it legit really IS a small indie company. Play it, have fun with it, but also have your expectations that it is not perfect and is made on spaghetti code.
