There isn't enough words I could string together in such a way that I feel satisfied to have done the love and adoration I feel for this game justice. It's so so beautiful, and I was so sad upon reaching the end - only because it was over, though I was overwhelmingly happy to have experienced it. I expect I will replay it in time, and I'm very excited to see what "Nirvana Noir" holds for me next. To everyone who made this beautiful work of art possible, I offer my most profound thank you.

I fully believe that any and all negative reviews of this game are from people who don't want to bother looking past the surface level in their media. This game is an absolutely perfect experience, do yourself a favor and play this game.

Genesis Noir is one of the best interactive movies I've played and I don't really know how else to describe it. I wouldn't call it a visual novel either because you do control a character in third person. Calling it an "experience" makes it sound shallow or like I'm overstating it. Either way, Genesis Noir has very few gameplay elements, but everything else is done extraordinarily well. The music, art direction, setpieces, level transitioning, etc. are all some of the best I've seen from this. I'm really looking forward to the sequel and hope they've improved on the "game" part of it. Very very stylish, and an interesting plot with lots of interesting imagery, although it takes a bit of a 2001: A Space Odyssey turn right in its final hour. Kind of muddied the waters for me, and they were already not that clear to begin with... I think it didn't stick the landing as well as it could have. I had also initially bounced off the first level, but the rest of the game was pretty cool after getting past it. Definitely recommend.
