Not looking at it through a negative lens, it was a really fun and polished campaign. While it did lack the gritty or darkness of 1-3, I still liked the characters and I felt the game play was fantastic, 9/10 very good. (Please bring the original games to steam)

From a multiplayer perspective, this is a Great game, its better than 4 but not as great as the originals. The multiplayer is fun and active still. Just like old gears and many games before (unreal tourney, quake, halo) Its a power struggle for power-weapons and positioning, and there are good game modes squeezed in. The gnasher is as fun as ever before and the game runs like butter. I have been playing gears since the very start and it is still great to see solid gameplay. My real only complaint with this game, is it is NOT noob friendly online. You will die (by my hands) a million times over before you start to learn the mechanics. Let me stress very hard, that this game is a blast when you get proficient at it. With E-DAY being announced, i highly recommend playing this game both solo and/or multiplayer to get a good feel about how gears works. LETS GET IT!

Strictly a MP only review, at it's core Gears 5 mp is the exact same as the original series (minus the same ummph the originals had) if you're looking for that same fast paced gnasher gameplay nothing changed, unlike halo.. Now I do have a lot of fps drops/stuttering and overall laggy servers but I believe this is just a PC port issue, I do recall feeling desyncs on xbox one/series X so I guess it's just more noticable with all the frames, regardless it doesn't take me out of the experience too much, give us Gears 2-3 with online please.
