It took me around 3 hours to finish the game, but I must say that those 3 hours are worth the prize. I really enjoyed the game and I think that you should give it a try. 10/10.

Gato Roboto is a charming little microvania that, although it doesnā€™t make much of an impact, makes for a decently solid entry point into the genre without too much of a time sink or difficulty spike. Itā€™s short, only 3 or so hours, and is pretty easy to boot, with generous save points and easy-to-find upgrades that boost your health quickly. I will warn you that this game is very much a ā€œrun of the millā€ metroidvania, it takes a lot from NES Metroid without really adding anything of substance. The idea of getting out of your mech for more precise platforming is sort of interesting, but is bogged down by the actual cat controls being weirdly over-reactive to the point where it feels like Iā€™m losing control of my character. Youā€™ll get very standard upgrades, use rockets and regular guns, the level design itself is almost unnoticeably standard, to the point where my brain was kind of turned off for a lot of it. To be fair though, Iā€™ve played my fair share of Metroidvanias already, and this one definitely emanates more of a ā€œbeginner vibeā€. I did find the style to be pretty cohesive and pretty to look at, Iā€™m always a sucker for a Gameboy-esque aesthetic and it contributed to the microvania feel. Overall, thereā€™s really not much I can find wrong with Gato Roboto, and for what itā€™s worth, itā€™s a simple, short game that isnā€™t too difficult and wonā€™t last in your brain for very long. Not that thatā€™s a bad thing, for its price and size it works well with what it has.

Playtime: 7.9 hrs The graphic style was pretty misleading because as a newbie for action game, I found this game quite hard, especially some of the bosses. That also made some of the achievements quite hard to get, which was a shame. But overall, a nice game and maybe someday I will be able to improve my skill and get those achievements eventually.

Meowtroidvania It is a short and charming game, paying homage to classic Metroid titles. The Game Boy aesthetic is captivating and the extra colour palettes add a delightful touch. Progression is made through a central hub (The Nexus), like the Main Deck in Metroid Fusion. This design choice may make the game somewhat linear for those who enjoy the freedom to explore (and occasionally get lost) in their metroidvanias. Now, I can only dream of another Metroid 2 remake with the engine from this game.

Quite linear as metroidvanias go, and not particularly difficult (I finished in just under three hours while taking time to explore) but it makes up for it in cuteness and style. Definitely worth the price!
