I find this game enjoyable overall. The winter months as german can be a bit of a chore, but it's a great game.

Always enjoyed large strategy games and this is huge. Whole eastern front from start to end, get it on sale. It is a steep learn as so much to it but it does have simpler air rules than WITE 2. Computer opponent not to bad mainly played as germans and has certainly been enjoyable as up their level starts getting tricky. get the map mod so it looks a lot nicer (look in discussions it is highlighted there). May be simple but takes a while to master, plenty of articles and guides out there to help.

Ya, it's a good game alright. However, it stopped launching on my machine. So I've been going to grab the new version, but that changed for me today. I had a really lame interaction with customer service today so I'm out. No more games from Slith for me, sadly, since I've a lot of titles from them in my lib. What was funny to me is I sent mail to a differing publisher after the fact, telling them I had a budget now of $116 since Slith turned me down on my offer of 2x for the price of 1 on one of the titles.. This other pub made a great offer and now a pal and I are trying to decide what titles we want to play with. Meanwhile, I've gone back to my steam lib. and I'm leaving reviews that say "ya, good titles but the biz? they are losing long-term clients because they have a lame approach to customer service..." -- Its sad. No one wants to lose clients these days. I was all up for sending them my bread. Now? Now I wont be playing anything from them, for at least a long while.

This is possibly the best detailed wargame I've ever played (and I've been playing computer wargames since the 1980s). From issues of supply to airpower to actual encirclements, Gary Grigsby has pulled off something special here. It's a wargame that doesn't feel like a puzzle that, once you crack it, you've done it. This is a proper wargame. If you don't master supply, you will fail. If you don't master the art of pulling off encirclements, you fill fail. It's brilliant and wholeheartedly recommended.
