Works on Reverb G2. Garden of the Sea is a charming crafting/exploration game with no written text or spoken dialogue. It is relaxing and casual: there very little typical farming sim chores. Plants require only minimal watering and grow in a matter of minutes, so the player can focus on traveling without worries that the garden will wither. And there are a lot of side activities to do: from upgrading the house and fishing to treasure hunting, restoring merchant's booths and upgrading tools. It is an old game by VR standards, initial release was in 2019 and it shows in both good and bad way. Visuals are beautiful and sharp, but there is no physics for tools/hands interacting with environments.

That was absolutely amazing!!! I wish there were more islands/content hihi I am super addicted to farm/crafting games and I was so happy when I found this in VR!! I completed the story but I didn't rush it, just enjoyed my time decorating the island. Super cozy game, if they release a DLC or a similar game, I will definitely buy it!

What a nice cozy game!! As someone who loves cozy games, I do love this one. You can do whatever you want or follow the quest lines! Only negatives are that some instructions are super unclear, pictures are all you get. And if you don't recognize something, the only way to find out what it is is by going to the wiki. That needs to be finished too! Overall, great experience. Get it if you love cozy games and farming!

When I played this game back in 2019, I didn't think anything would become of it. It was more than a tech demo, but not a game. I spent I dunno, an hour or so playing it. It was interesting, I saw that it had potential. But the dev indicated they were going to focus on Budget Cuts and come back to this. I assumed it was going to just become vaporware. But, I kept it in my list of things to get around to. Finally came back to it four years later. And it's become a surprisingly real fleshed out game. The game is like a cozy crafting game with some quests centered around building, growing, and upgrading. I found it to be extremely satisfying to upgrade everything and craft all of the recipes. The game had a really good flow without any dialogue or obvious guidance. I always knew what I should be doing, up until the very end. Was a little confused by the stables for whatever reason. There are multiple islands to explore, a boat to sail, fishing, there really is a lot to do. The music in the game, while simple, accentuates cool things you are doing. For whatever reason, it reminds me of A Monster's Expedition. The graphics, while simple, are charming. Native Index controller support was a plus and improved immersion. I only experienced one issue. When upgrading the house, any shelves or chests I had near the walls had the potential to be lost, so I had to start taking them down and putting them back up. which is annoying. The game's asking price is steep. I got around 10 hours out of it with 100% achievements. There is some end game where you could work on your house, decorate, landscape, etc. But I didn't find it interesting enough and moved one. But it's there. Given how pricey and short most VR content is, I would say this stands out as being on the longer side. So the asking price is probably worth it. But if it's on sale, definitely pick it up.
