I love this game and it's very easy to lose time playing. But, that being said, it is extremely annoying to have a plant cap. Barely 10% of my garden is covered and I can't plant anymore because the game tells me there isn't anymore room. Especially when I have the whole Greenhouse a good 80% of the initial garden and across the bridge empty. And that's in the story and creative. I understand needing to have somewhat of a cap on plants, but barely being able to cover the garden because there is so much space but the game doesn't allow you to use it is aggravating. I would almost prefer that the garden was smaller so it doesn't look so empty. And yes you can decorate it and that's fun but the reason I want to play is to plant a garden. This game has a lot of growing room and I enjoy playing it, but not when I have to go back and delete half of my garden to plant other flowers.

I am going to prefix this review by saying, yes I am aware there is a plant limit. That plant limit, combined with the less than effective way the seed variants randomize means the most effective way to play story mode is not the most satisfying way. Ideally, by the time you finish the game, your garden should be full of every variety of plant you have discovered during the course of your play through. However, the plant limit prevents that because by the end of the game you can maybe only keep one or two of each plant in order to have them all. In addition, because the randomization for the seed variations are spread out across plants, it's more effective to only plant one plant type at a time and farm for those variations. It's much quicker to do that in the long run. However, I understand why that plant limit exists. The coding for this game is complex, but that complexity has allowed for a beautiful garden and a bit more depth in the game play as I decide if I should just prune a bit to encourage growth or just start over and prune it all away. And there is something fun about decorating a garden (I would suggest creative mode for that) within those constraints. I enjoyed this game. I wouldn't have played 50 hours of it, if I didn't and I still jump in occasionally, in hopes to get my climbing plants to behave themselves. There are improvements this game can have and I do recommend if you find this game on sale, to try it right away to make sure it can run on your computer. Even if you meet the specs, this is a heavy game because of the way the plants are coded, but I think this is a great game, and I look forever to any improvements the devs make to it. There's a lot of potential here, but it does need a bit of tweaking. As a side note the devs have been wonderful and made some tweaks already right away, including the time pausing while rummaging around in menus which is lovely. They're very responsive so if you're not sure because of issues, keep an eye on this game as no doubt changes will be more for the future.

I'm really enjoying this game, love that there are no time constraints. If I were to make one recommendation, I'd ask that there be no plant limit. My dream garden has WAY more plants in it than are allowed. If developers read this, please allow unlimited plants.

I'm a gardener. I enjoyed the game for 10 hours, then hit a wall. I'm not inspired to continue playing until changes are made. I hit the maximum number of plants in the first gardening zone in Story Mode around Day 40. When I unlocked two additional gardening areas, to my horror the number of available planting plots did not increase proportionately with the new zones. I tore out parts of my original garden which made it feel empty and it made me sad while doing it. Now the majority of my quests are to have 15, 25, etc of one specific plant planted in the garden. Which means ripping out more of what I already curated. So for now, I'm done. Devs have stated they are testing ways to implement new plant limits, so my review is positive in the hopes that this change will come. Other QoL fixes I would like to see are: Improved inventory system, auto-sorting, increase overall stack sizes (999), better stack splitting, crafting from storage, fertilizer re-balancing, plant name should show on mouse hover, improve the Plant Name Tag item, quest pinning, pause time in inventory and menus, and slightly longer days. I would also like to see the in-game book about the plants improved. There is too little useful information in the text. And searching is non-existent. The pictures are pretty, but do not convey information as intended. I felt very lucky to know from experience beforehand which plants were going to be vines and would need trellises. However, the Yellow Jasmine request seems to be tripping up lots of other players due to this information not being well explained in-game. This game is newly released and the dev team has been actively participating in discussions, so I am optimistic that QoL changes will come and improve this game even more.

Definitely just found one of my new favourite games 💐 I love the atmosphere, the graphics are really nice, and it's overall just a really good game. It's still 'challenging' enough where you want to play it, but relaxing enough that it doesn't feel like a chore.
