This is a nice change up to the premise of the last two games (Not including the VR only game). I have only played this in VR so far and am loving it!

A good sequel to Gal*Gun Double Peace. Personally, I think DP was better with its storyline and the game mechanics (especially being able to SAVE), but still, Gal*Gun 2 is quite enjoyable on its own.

This game makes me worried about the educational system in Japan. Why, the teachers are so desperate, for just 5 of their favourite snacks they'll agree to do unspeakable things with a student. Just kidding. They'll agree to do the unspeakable things by default - anywhere on the school grounds, in the park, etc. The snacks are only needed if you want to do those things with them in your own home.

I didn't get this game at first. You stand in one spot, occasionally moving to other pre-determined spots, and you point and shoot at girls. No ammo, no reloads, you click a bunch and everyone falls to their knees and you win. Hardly a challenge. Where's the fun? But eventually, something just...clicked. I wasn't looking in the right place; I thought the fun came from beating the stages and the game, but I was oh, so wrong. This is an Inti Creates game through and through, and that means the real fun comes from an arcade-like feeling of perfection ; getting better and better at the game and maximising score gain through flawless play. Sure, just shooting every girl and demon that comes your way is easy as cake in the park, but playing like that isn't gonna get you a lot of points; for that, you need to accurately shoot each girl's weak point and build up combo, as well as using the limited-energy Demon Sweeper to vacuum up demons instead of shooting them. But woe, your combo is as fragile as a glass house in a rock-throwing factory, and can be broken by a single hit from any source--mainly girls. And you can't move around nor dodge because your feet are made of superglue! What are you supposed to do?! Well, that's pretty obvious, isn't it? Shoot faster. Eliminate any threats before they can pose any threat. Polish that cowboy spirit and become the best gunslinger you can be. "B-but I also need to find each girl's weak spot first! How am I supposed to do that so quickly?!" Well, here's where the genius of this game comes into play: every single enemy is an actual set character in the universe, each with their own personality, backstory, and of course, weak points. Yes, you'll start the game bumbling around, hovering your crosshair all over every girl trying to find their weak points--but you'll learn. You'll learn their names, their appearances, their voices, and their weak points as you go through the game. You'll learn to recognise each girl and figure out exactly where to aim from a split-second glance. Kanko the busty bespectacled country bumpkin student council girl? She has a weak spot on her chest. The cat-like Neneko who wears cat-themed hairpins and ends every sentence with "nya"? Like a cat, her weak point is on the head, so give her a headpat. The side-tailed isekai'd Kurusubara twins? Both weak in the legs. Soon enough, you'll be aiming for their weak points on instinct. But that's not enough to get my dopamine running, no sir; there's another layer to this challenge pastry and it's called femdom. That didn't come out right but whatever. Sometimes the girls come possessed by mini-demons and attempt to push you down and trample on your joystick; being possessed also renders them immune to damage, so you need to shoot the demons off to return them to their senses. This takes time; time that you might not have when other demon-possessed girls are gunning for you. That's why you need to think about the order of precedence; "Who do I shoot first? Maybe I'll hit this non-possessed girl in her weak spot before moving on to the possessed one. Oh, but she's already running this way and I don't know the other girl's weak point! So maybe I should do it the other way around. But then what? There are other girls behind them. Should I snipe the other possessed one before she shouts at me or take care of the other ones before they get within attacking distance?" I've written a lot, but it's this combination of engagements that really sold me on the game. At any moment, at every point, I'm thinking about what to do, when, and in what order--and this isn't even covering the fine details like the get-out-of-jail-free Striphoria or screen-clearing Lovestrike. It may be dressed in a veil of cutesy ecchi anime aesthetic, but it's a thoroughly absorbing arcade shoot-'em-up.
