A very cool Rouge-like that while simple has a lot of charm, a unique gameplay loop, a surprising amount of item variety, and even a hard mode that while unfair at times is quite fun. All of this giving the game a lot of replay value for the price. Also your playing as a frog named Froggy who supports trans rights and hates capitalism whats not to love (⁎˃ᆺ˂)

A really fun, short froguelike about a very green, frogressive individual. You're about to do many lightning-casting-kickflips over some bad guys to skate them to death, all that while swinging a sword and shooting a slingshot. Sick, right? The game in regular mode isn't super long and difficult - the single run takes like ten minutes. However, after you beat the game, you can unlock a hard mode which can be quite punishing (I haven't managed to do it tbh). A really good way spend a boring afternoon or two for just 2 euros.

I usually wait until I've fully completed games to review them but I just love this game so much in the short time I've played it! In Froggy's Battle, you play as a very cute anti-capitalism, pro-trans rights froggy who's simply trying to vibe and have a good time skateboarding. Waves of rude enemy frogs are trying to hurt you so you fight back through attacks with your skateboard, skills and equipment. After each wave/level you get a choice of three cards with various upgrades, and while the pool of items and skills isn't very large, there's enough variety that each run can be different as different combos of items and skills lend themselves to different strategies. This game is a roguelike, so any progress and equipment you gain are lost at game over, which is just as well - since the game is so simple and short, including permanent buffs would make the game too easy and less fun, imo. Admittedly I mainly wanted to play because the art style is just so darn cute, but the gameplay really hooked me and I found myself seriously invested in my runs, with each defeat adding to my determination to progress further the next run. Each run takes just a few minutes to complete - my first run to beat the game on normal difficulty took just under 6 minutes. I haven't won a run on hard mode yet, but so far the differences in levels between normal and hard is really well done - the levels are harder but the enemy types are the same, so your strategies in dealing with them still carries over between difficulties. If hard mode is too frustrating, normal mode is there waiting for you to relax and have a good time with. If you've never played a roguelike before or are newer to games in general, this is a really solid (and cheap!) game that's fun and is a good way to get introduced to this genre. Overall, a simple and adorable game I'm excited to 100% and unwind with. 10/10!

Ill be honest I bought this game because it was cheap and I liked the artwork, assumning it wouldnt be very good. But I love frogs. But yeah the game is actually a solid roguelite thing with a neat twist on the mechanics (skating around the inside of a tube) and as far as ive seen, is really quite solidly put together. Definately recommend for the price point, I can see myself spending 30 hours on this over a couple years
