I have had this application for a while now, but have only recently started using it more frequently while I try out different hardware configurations. This is hands down a must have for VR if you are trying to dial in settings and want to know what impact the changes you have made on the fly. The last 2 games I have tested (Alien: Rogue Incursion and Subside) I have used this app to dial in the perfect settings configurations without having re-projection kick in. Now I can play both at 72Hz pretty much solid and have the fidelity much higher than I typically do. Especially for Subside. If Alien: RI gets some optimization patches, I could push that game even further. FPS VR is a fantastic tool.

I was having issues with some of the more demanding VR titles, like Alien: Rouge Incursion. After searching online, I saw recommendations to purchase this tool, so I did. What can I say about it? WOW! This tool has helped immensely in understanding what is happening in the background with your GPU and CPU, the amount of resources and VRAM that are being used, and if its being strained enough that reproduction turns on, which is a feature you DON'T want to use. The main performance issue is literally Steam VR itself. I use a 3080 which has 10GB VRAM. When Steam VR Home turned on, 6.6GB out of the 10GB is already being used and wasted. Turning off the Steam VR Home Living Room and just leaving a static image has massively dropped the VRAM usage from 6.6GB down to 2.4GB. With all this extra VRAM, the performance improved immensely. Now it was running max, still using reproduction, but I gotten somewhere. The next step I've noticed is the default eye resolution was almost 4,000p. I dropped the in game resolution to what the PSVR2 is, which is around 2,000p per eye. This completely changed the performance to full on stable and playable. Lastly, the only thing left was the actual in game graphics settings. This is obviously on a game by game basis, but just because I changed the first two settings, along with using FPSVR to see the performance change on the fly, I was able to successfully make any VR game work the way it should. If you're into VR and are struggling to get your games to work, BUY THIS APP! It is definitely something you will always use.

Turned out to be very convenient in monitoring performance (than having SteamVR GPU graph near your face in VR) and battery life on Oculus headset and controllers (works fine with Oculus Dash killer too).

It works but just with SteamVR games. If you have an Oculus (Meta) device, you can open the debug tool, then on the HUDs section "Visible HUD" dropdown choose "Performance". Then you will get an FPS and headroom counter while u play. It's not developer fault, but I do not recommend it for meta users.
