How do I say this, it's sort of hard to explain, this game isn't for everyone. Extremely unique story and I'm not going into depth on it but replayed around 4 times on the mobile version, which is now gone for some reason, my opinion? It's the best story game in the world, why? It's the most pure story game out there, and that's what makes it valuable to me, is it short? Yes it is, to make you more sad it ends early, Is it a common scenario? Who cares, cliche or not, it's a story, enjoy it. All the music is copyright free I believe unless I'm wrong, this goes to show how anyone can make a beautiful story without too much work E.g. making your own soundtrack or making the story very long Anyway, do I recommend it for anyone? No. If you're into some bittersweet stories, go ahead .

Fox Hime Zero is a heartfelt visual novel that tells a touching story filled with romance, mysticism, and beautiful art. The character designs are stunning, and the backgrounds are vibrant, creating an immersive world that’s a joy to explore. The music complements the mood perfectly, enhancing the emotional beats of the story. On the downside, the gameplay is limited to making a few choices, which may not appeal to players looking for more interactivity. Additionally, the pacing can feel slow at times, especially if you’re not fully invested in the narrative. That said, if you’re a fan of visual novels and enjoy charming stories with a bit of fantasy, Fox Hime Zero is a lovely experience. It’s short but sweet, offering a relaxing escape into a beautifully crafted tale.

I went into this game with relatively low expectations that ended up being exceeded quite handedly. The overarching story is somewhat cliche and has been seen before, but the pacing of the story and character development kept me engaged throughout. I personally find it extremely easy to attach to characters so I grew to like Mori very quickly. The translation has some errors, but overall doesn't take away from the immersion of living vicariously through the protagonist. For the price tag this game is a solid feel good story with minor elements of plot that carries over into the predecessor Fox Hime, with the protagonist likely being in a different life, but still being the "same" person/character. Overall a really fun read that will last you between 1-3 hours depending on reading speed, and well worth the roughly 2-3$ price tag when on sale.

Fox Hime Zero is a beautiful visual novel based on the visual novel, Fox Hime. Fox Hime Zero serves as a reimagining of the story of Fox Hime and not a direct sequel, it has returning characters and some new characters too. Yan is a college student, studying nature. Currently, he's doing research in the mountains, examining all the flora and fauna it has to offer. However, one day, he feels a strange presence watching him. Unbeknownst to him, the strange presence would just so happen to be a mysterious girl with fox ears and a tail, something out of a person's wildest dreams. The story is amazing! I enjoyed every single moment. I assure you, it will tug at your heartstrings. I genuinely believe the story to be superior to the original, there's a lot more character, personality and depth. The characters are all great but I will say, Mori has definitely cemented herself as one of my favourite characters of all time, there's just something about her that feels so real, so tangible. Music's great too, in true AsicxArt fashion, a lot of it coming from Kevin MacLeod, but there are a few other decent tracks that really add to the atmosphere too! The art is really pretty too, in fact, there isn't a single CG I didn't like. It's just beautiful. Undeniably great wallpaper material. The points store also has some great items if you have some steam points to spare! Overall, Fox Hime Zero has become one of my favourite visual novels of all time. I recommend it indefinitely, it really is underrated. You should however, play Fox Hime first though, even if they're independent stories, I believe it'll make you appreciate Fox Hime Zero even more!

This Fox Hime Zero (FHZ) was supposed to be a "prequel" to Fox Hime (FH). So, if you start it after completing Fox Hime (like I did) then you would almost immediately find the story was somewhat "off" -- since it seemed totally unrelated to the original Fox Hime, except the main characters' names and look (CG/art). At first, I couldn't help but thought that it was another spin-off exploitation, where producers try to take advantage of their prior successful products/brands by reusing characters' names and CG. After completing the VN, I think there could be some deeper overarching story line connecting the two VNs. Considering the eras in the two stories, the age of Mori (the main female character), and the subtle hints near the end of FHZ's story, then FHZ's was about the main male character, Yan's, previous life, in which he first met Mori. From the clothing and architectural styles, I guess it should be around the middle of the 20th century. On the other hand, the original FH's story is about Yan's second life (could also be third, fourth, or any number), which took place in modern days, with Mori being much older and more mature now. She still cares for her love deeply but took on a very different perspective (also kind of hinted in her thoughts near the end of FHZ). So, that is what I thought was the "whole story" behind those two VNs, and why recommend them. But other readers may as well see some other, different stories in them. Overall, both VNs are fine pieces to enjoy, especially for people new to VNs. For the stricter VNs' veteran readers, these two may be a bit lacking in contents, but they are still well worth their prices ($2 each, so two of them combined is ~= a cup of coffee).
