I love this game for some reason. I do wish they would still add more to the game though. IT feels like this game could go further. THe goblins are such a pain but still fun

I was not sure about buying t or not from the reviews though its only 7 dollars so why not so I went ahead and bought it. Since i do not know what I'm dong I decided to play it on easy to relax and learn the ropes I'll keep playing it in easy until I'm satisfied with how much I learned before going to much harder difficulty. But so far I like it and I encourage anyone to buy it ===> IF <=== your looking for a relaxing simple yet cute farming / sims / city builder / age of empires like game as I see the video on store it displayed people attacking your village or kingdom whatever you would like to call it. Features of the game [*]Orders: You can click and drag to select your sims / villages all at once and right click to give them orders. [*]Bubble text: When giving them orders by right you get speech like bubbles pop up like the sims that will say things like "insult" "sit" "dance" "tell a risky joke" "hug" "walk here" and so on which reminds me of the sims which is a nice touch [*]Building: Building is easy to do select the right tab then select the right category your looking for then select one of many build-able things to build if you unlocked them. Once doing so all you do is the left mouse to click where you want it and use Q or E to rotate it in different directions as for walls and wall fences defenses and floors its like the sims click and dragon in a direction that it visually shows you how much you can place down if you have the resources for it. If you wish to remove walls hold the right mouse button and drag over your walls to mark them as red then let go of the right mouse button and POOF the walls vanish that easy and displaying the refunded resources used yay simple just like sims that's QoL right there mmhmm.... [*]World options: As for the world I had options before creating the world you will be playing on you'll get handful of options as said on the size of the world and a few others I can't remember but it was simple yet effective to impact the world as is. [*]Character / villages customization: When finishing the options on making the world the next Ui that pops up or customization if you will is that like stelleis 4X space RTS game it was clear this game was heavily inspired by great games this is not a bad thing I wont lie I'm not big fan of putting positives and negatives to balance your characters out to customize there personality and traits strengths and weaknesses. But that's because I'm not very good at it so it takes me bit to try and perfect what I want so I'm no fan of it but it does not negativity impact the game at all some might say its a positive feature to add I'm ok with it just not fan of it :). [*]World layout: As for the world itself upon entering it you star at the coast or beach and you can move your villages to where you wish to start making small house and slowly expand to little bit of land with walls around it then another house within t hem walls and expand and expand and expand. With that said the resources are scatted here and there not too far from you as it allows you to set up in nice spot feeling like your not being too punished in location which is nice well balanced in that regard. [*]Harvesting resources: Harvesting resources seem to be relaxing and the way its done i'm fine with it some may want the villages to cut down trees then physically carry the logs to X Y Z same with stone and other resources though upon entering the game and watching them harvest them it was a interesting take on how they did it I'll leave that as a surprise lol. But I will say this though they stay at the resources as they harvest the wood and stone and what not go's up passively like 10................10..................10 and such so even if your village is little bit from the resource you need they do need to go back and forth in long walks just to get the resources in your pocket which is what I do like a lot. [*]UI: the UI its responsive and simple yet colorful in way of it being nice bright but not over bearing colors but nice scuttle yet bright UI that stands out easily with all different buttons that you can click for different actions or needs. See I'm color blind so faded colors or slightly pink or green or red and such I struggle to see if they blend in too much to the surrounding colors this UI has non of that its like solid brown here and sold green and blue there its nice I like that :) [*]The music: music isn't bad at all I actually felt like it was relaxing and it fit perfectly with the game it was sutle in a way that it can draw your attention to it as it can be a bit loud but turning it down helps but the music itself is nice and fits with the world So you can hear it all the time it just feels good like its nature like hearing the wind when you go outside your home in real life not the game its just passive music which is nice is what i'm getting at [*]The voice acting: Voice acting as for voice acting the villages do make a simple sounds like MMM?? and few other sounds I think they say some words but its like the sims they speak in odd words which I'm ok with but I did not really focus on it as you'll need to left click on them to have them make sounds and from a indie developer I'm ok with simple yet effective sounds for npc's. [*]The world: As for the world it has few tribes in it around the map some smaller others bigger they all look the same so far but keep in mind I did not pan my camera around the whole map just in the local area of my village so I'm not sure how big the land is or how many tribes though speaking of tribes I'v got no idea what they do?. My guess is they come and attack you if you are a treat or grow too big I yet to get that far in the game as I only played for about 2 hours late at night. [*]UI tabs: display of tribes and random people you meet I did not look too deeply into this as this was at the tail end of my play session as I was getting too tired but from what I do remember is that its big UI window with tribe or tribes you found and the random people you bump into and I think it had a bar to display some kind of stat like friendly or some kind?. But the ones I did have in the window was a tribe the trader and I think my villages? 'll update this to add in the correct info in the future Game Rating 7 / 10 Final thoughts For a indie developer this is not bad it ends up getting slightly above average score as which is a 6 but this earns a 7 from its creativity and detail that I was surprised it had and to add to that the cute charm and easy to use UI and building mechanic overall this is a nice game for all ages. And honestly I look forward for a sequel to this game as the foundation is now laid out for the developer making a second game upon this which more detail if they chose to or new features or larger world or more threats or expansions for the original game would be really great to see. I like the blend of sims and age of empires and bit of this and that as it made a good game as i is to be nice to play and fun to build even if its basic compared to other games that focus heavy in one aspect or the other this game allows you to build villages and towns. Like sim houses and add decorations to it and detail for a satisfying touch like the sims but has the building and managing the villages like age of empires and the sims combined and from what I saw you can build castle walls and towers with archers which brings me to that age of empires feel meets sims again love the idea I like to see more of this in the future if its a sequel to the game or expansions to this game :).

Very fun game. Taming cows, sheep, and pigs (or fighting, butchering) which, when at least two of the same type are tamed, they eventually multiply. Befriending "neighbors" or fighting and decimating them is a nice addition, as well. Build and expand in this simulator! CAUTION!!! This game can be addicting! You have been warned, my friend.

Just thought I need to add to add a review as some reviewers are claiming this game to be "abandoned". When the dev released the game as 1.0 they considered it essentially a completed game. The dev does still do bug fixes occasionally to stabilise the game which is good enough. After playing it for 20ish hours I find that it is indeed a complete game. I find it odd that nowadays people seem entitled to ongoing updates when a game is essentially complete. See below for details but for the asking price it is generally worth 20-30 hours of game play. Generally, Founder Fortune is a decent colony survival game with nice fairy-tale like visual design. It is a good game to get into colony survival genre. Though it is comparatively light on mechanics compared to Rimworld or Banished etc. I find that the game generally has enough to get your bang for your buck with farming, building, trade and basic combat etc. You will definitely will feel the need to run it a few times until you scratch that colony survival itch The only critic is the lack of an end game. However, not all games need an ending when you can make large towns / villages while seeing your colonist get old and pass the settlement to the next generation.

Founder’s Fortune: The Zany Saga of Settler Shenanigans Ever wondered what it would be like to be the omnipotent ruler of a quirky colony full of settlers with more personality than common sense? Well, Founder’s Fortune lets you do just that! This game offers a delightful blend of survival, management, and enough wacky moments to keep you entertained for hours. You kick off with two brave (or blissfully ignorant) settlers who wash up on an island with little more than a few tools and grand dreams of building a thriving village. Simple enough, right? Think again! These settlers have personalities as unpredictable as a toddler on a sugar high. Each settler comes with their own unique quirks, dreams, and, let's face it, plenty of annoying habits. Take Emma, for example, who’s convinced that the secret to happiness lies in planting an endless sea of pumpkins. Or Karl, the grumpy builder who’s always muttering about his aching back and his undying love for cheese. These characters will have you chuckling, facepalming, and occasionally yelling at your screen as they go about their daily routines. Building your colony is where Founder’s Fortune truly lets your imagination run wild. Want to design a village that looks like it was planned by a drunken squirrel? Go right ahead! Prefer a neat, orderly layout that would make a Swiss watchmaker proud? That works too! The construction tools are so flexible that you can create anything from cozy little huts to architectural nightmares that defy the laws of physics. But wait, it’s not all pumpkin patches and bizarre buildings. Your settlers will face a plethora of challenges, including seasonal changes that can turn your fertile farmland into a barren wasteland and goblin invasions that always seem to occur when you’re least prepared. Nothing builds camaraderie like fending off a goblin raid with nothing but a few pitchforks and some overly enthusiastic settlers. Resource management in Founder’s Fortune is another source of endless amusement. Gathering materials, growing crops, and crafting items to keep your colony running smoothly is a task that’s often easier said than done. Watching your settlers bumble through their tasks with varying degrees of success is like watching a sitcom. The crafting system is particularly satisfying, letting you create everything from simple tools to elaborate pieces of furniture that can make even the grumpiest settler crack a smile. The visuals and sound design are the cherry on top of this delightful sundae. The cartoony art style is bright, colorful, and downright adorable. Watching your settlers go about their business with their oversized heads and tiny bodies is endlessly entertaining. The soundtrack is cheerful and upbeat, perfectly complementing the game’s whimsical vibe. In conclusion, Founder’s Fortune is a hilarious, engaging, and charming colony simulation game. It’s the perfect mix of creativity, management, and laugh-out-loud moments. Whether you’re a seasoned sim veteran or new to the genre, this game will have you hooked from the moment your first settler plants their first pumpkin. So grab your sense of humor, roll up your sleeves, and dive into the zany world of Founder’s Fortune. Your settlers (and their ridiculous antics) are waiting!
