I recently found this game while searching for 2D RPG games, and even though this seems to have been around for many years, I had never come across it. It is great to see the new updates that have recently come out. It is very nicely drawn. The past few weeks I've spent a lot of time playing Enshrouded, with kind of the same features, but in 3D. Then yesterday, while playing Enshrouded I was thinking of trying Forsaken Isle, as it seemed simpler with progression and now I am hooked. When you first start it isn't very clear how to get resources and if you should keep hitting a tree or rock with your bare hands or not, but when trying other things, you understand how the recipes and crafting works. Early on you can get seeds and build a base and grow crops. Instead of building walls, I decided to hack into the rocks and use those as my living area, which works very well. Well done, dev, I think you built a great game and I hope you will keep at it for a while.

It is a very good game it has changed a lot even though it is not completely finished and from what it looks like there will be a new island, what it lacks is more help from the community for crafting and certain things even though they are not so difficult some are complicated but the 10/10 game with much more help the game would be perfect (I don't know what I have to do with the npc of the black robe in the Dungeon help)

Alright. Idk how come this won me over but Core Keeper and Tinkertown couldn't. But I will say it really is a great game and I've found myself really invested in this. Normally I'd go straight into combat and trying to progress as far as I can but I'm enjoying doing the farming and building part of it. Nothing is really explained but you learn as you go. In order to tame animals you need a leash and drag two of a kind, pig or sheep into your little enclosures for them. Make sure the have a feeding tray too with a coop and they'll start mating. Chickens however are Different. You still need two but you need to feed them Hay first THEN thats when you can leash (tame) them. Farming is pretty simple. Use a hoe and plant seeds. One thing is the Biome. You can dig up SOME parts of the biome from underground (down the levels) such as the mushroom area and place it above surface and you can start growing that Biomes forages like blue mushrooms or regular mushrooms from the cave-like biome. Combat is simple but I like how some weapons have a range attack or can ricochet. There are no "abilities" Crafting is my one and only gripe. If you don't have the items on hand the list of what you can craft isn't visible even if you craft and learned the recipe. Lets say you wanna make a Bow? You need Log and String. Unless it's in your inventory, then it will show up. So you'll find yourself going back and forth looking at the recipe again so you can put those materials in your inventory to craft what you need. Basically can't craft from chest. Everything else I like. Music needs to loop. It just stops until you resurface or go back underground again. In due time the game will get polished and it's literally super cheap so why not give it a go if you wanna try and support.

Forsaken Isle! Huge content drop! Tons of new stuff! (immediately starts building a garden and taming sheep) I'm having trouble phrasing my recommendation beyond it being wonderful. The pixel art is marvellous. The music's great. You can be ridiculous like me, and cosplay your dream zombie pirate gardener girl, or you can go immediately all-in on exploration and stabbing monsters with your sharp stick of choice. I find it especially delightful that the decorating and gardening doesn't get in way of the murderizing, as well as vice versa -- a lot of games promise combat and then rope you into stirring healing potions, or promise you gardening and then make you kill the Fangly Destructobeast to get your first seed. Ever-so-thrilled that the developer's able to work on this again. It's a lovely, pixelly treat.

The game is great, and it is a testament to that sentiment that all of the negative reviews here are because the game was seemingly abandoned. However, the dev is back in full gear and very active with the community on discord always seeking feedback. Definitely worth the money, and honestly more than is being charged in my opinion.
