A fantastic experience, filled to the brim with secrets to explore and a definite recommend for classic survival horror fans. I had a great time with this one. That said, it does come with a few hiccups. It was far easier than I expected, giving me an abundance of resources I barely needed, and there were many issues with it's level design and signposting that could have all been solved with a simple map system akin to it's predecessors. 7/10, overall a great experience that deserves more recognition.

I have no idea what this game was about. I knew it was a survival horror game, but that was pretty much it. I read the praise it got for being an indie game and then decided to give it a go. What a wonderful game it ended up being! Easily one of the best ones I have played this year. I loved the setting, trapped in a hotel resembling the shining situation, with many clever puzzles around to advance and some enemies to tackle. It takes many things from resident evil 7 (item management, saving mechanics, chest to drop items, weapons, art...), the story is interesting and pretty long, easily around 12-15 h in your first gameplay. It also has many rewarding secrets and some backtracking. The puzzles are challenging, reminded me of tormented souls kind of puzzles, you really have to think hard to solve some of them and look at your notes or documents to get the hints. The last part of the game was a bit more boring imo, but still pretty good. The only thing I did not like was the combat, felt clunky, harsh and a bit unfair: you can get stuck in narrow path with enemies and get killed because you cannot shoot at them and cannot run away from them. Otherwise, it is a must have if you like horror games and well-thought satisfying to resolve puzzles.

The game is a little clunky, but still very good. The level design is fantastic and story is very interesting. Definitely worth checking out.

Fans of modern Resident Evil chapters will appreciate this game. It contents same elements: - Building with many closed doors, ornate keys and colored access cards. - Puzzles, riddles, secrets. - Weapon's improvement. - Survival horror where your bullets are valuable. - Inventory with items combining. - Monsters (literally, zombies, of course). - Invincible stalker. - Bosses (weak, but still) - Old evil community. - Underground lab , After all. Fobia has interesting plot and setting. Also, some features look fresh here. For example, camera which helps see through other dimension. Very close to The Medium. The finale was a bit strange and under understandable. Very specific. Also, in "the best" traditions of the genre, the horror game turned into a mediocre shooter. That's upsetting me. But, anyway, I liked this game without any exclusion and have had a lot of fun playing it. Strongly recommended. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3200742236 P.s. Honestly, this is ony of my most favourite survival horror games —Nice graphics, especially for an indie game — Spacious hotel which is nice to traverse. It looks gorgeous, it floor is distincs (some floors are more damaged, whilst others look untouched). — I think BACKTRACKING and EXPLORATION are one of the strongest points of the game. The hotel is nice to traverse, exploration is extremely rewarding and level design is top-notch! — Nice gunplay. There are not many guns, but they all are very cool and enjoying to use. — Monster designs. They look really grotesque and repulsive, which is a good thing for a horror game — Good puzzles. Not to complicated, but not frustratingly easy either. — A couple of boss fight here and there Fobia is one of the best indie survival horror games. I'd put it on the same pedestal with Signalis and Tormented Souls, mainly for backtracking and exploration. If you are a fan of the genre, you must play this gem!
