Wonderful space flight simulator, with a focus on flying to and from a planet surface in order to rendezvous with an orbiting station. A couple of points to consider if you want to buy this game: 1- It's mainly a flight simulator; all the challenge is in learning to fly a spaceship with realistic physics and some simple quests to give you some objectives. You will have to consider relative velocities and gravity in space (orbital mechanics) which is something than no space game ever does because it is very hard to fly in space taking into account real forces. (Of course the game is still simplified with respect to reality) 2- This game is a nightmare if played with mouse and keyboard; a normal controller is good enough so keep this in mind in case you don't have a controller, because you will struggle for sure. 3- Graphics are pretty simple Overall a great game, but keep in mind that it is more of a simulator than a game

This game is awesome. The feelings I get when above the planet cloud layer getting ready to enter orbit is almost a zen moment. This is for sure the best flight sim out right now. My respect to the developer! Thank you for an awesome experience.

Bought the game after playing the free demo but wasn't sure I'd get a lot more play time out of it. I was wrong, as Flight of Nova is my third most played game from my steam library. Realistic flight model for atmospheric flights, seamless transitions from atmospheric to orbital flight, Newtonian physics in space with fully fledged orbital mechanics, random missions generator for infinite content. While admittedly niche, this game is a little gem and is unique in its kind. Did I mention there's a free demo ?

Hands down, the best space flight sim model that's currently available. Even though I've stopped playing Elite: Dangerous years ago, I had over 1000 hours clocked there - I don't think I'll be able to return to it after this. Compared to this game, Elite's flight model would feel downright arcade-y. I am playing with a H.O.T.A.S. though, which I highly recommend - with a flight model this good you just wouldn't be getting the full experience with a controller, let alone mouse & keyboard. It's a difference between playing as a pilot, and feeling like a pilot. There isn't much "game" here just yet though - it is an alpha, after all. Orbital missions also get a bit tedious after a while - time warp maxes out at 20x on the ground and 10x when docked to a space station, which really isn't enough if you want to do back-and-forth runs between ground and orbit without sitting and twiddling your thumbs for 5-10 minutes every time you wait for a launch window. Free flight in orbit has no time warp at all, which is not a problem most of the time - but it is definitely a problem when you need to go to either the highest space stations or those 8,000+ km away missions. You can basically put yourself on the trajectory and go cook dinner, chances are you'll be just about there by the time you return. I just started to brute-force burn the fuel and trying to leave just enough to land in the end, cutting the time down to at least somewhat manageable levels for those. Still, I really hope this game will continue to be developed. The core gameplay mechanic (you know, the flight) is already absolutely amazing - it alone, coupled with random procedural missions kept me going for hours upon hours. I know I will be coming back to this game every once in a while even in its current state just to fly for a bit.

I am BEGGING you, dev... please don't stop production on this. Please, please.... In the 2.5 hours I played, I went through the demo, played free flight (decent, land, orbit, dock, decent, land, launch into highly ecliptic orbit), and did 1 mission so far. It was some of the most boring gameplay I've ever had, and I loved every second of it. Because spacecraft. It's so well engineered, and obviously has incredible amounts of love poured into this game. There's a LOT of work to do, and if wasn't for my knowledge of orbital mechanics, it would have been even more difficult, but I still enjoyed this very much. Please don't stop. This reminds me of early KSP. The gameplay loop is STRONG, but just needs little extras and doodads to make it more accessible.
