I never played the mobile version, but this actually worth the RM3.78 which is a price of a bottle of coke during sales.

Until 2017, there was no way to play First Strike on PC. First Strike was originally released in 2014 and was exclusive to mobile devices . Because it was much better established, the PC version is generally smaller and gets fewer updates on average . The PC version has fewer features... but this isn't necessarily a bad thing for players. - Developers put most of the singleplayer content in the mobile version behind a paywall in 2022. - New content added to the mobile version in 2022 was not released equally to all players. [*]The Final Atomic Union and Doomsday Smashers require a subscription to play . [*]Ukraine, Mexico, UK, and Pakistan have to be purchased on singleplayer , but are free on multiplayer. [*]Ukraine cannot be released on IOS , as it violates Apple policies concerning international conflicts. The PC version of First Strike is a far more faithful successor while providing a vastly better multiplayer experience. The costs of developing new content on has stalled developers from being able to continue working on the mobile version of First Strike. (A huge mistake despite how fun new features can be). It killed the potential that the game had in early 2021. Compared to the subscriptions and microtransactions on mobile, the PC version feels like a breath of fresh air . In 2024, First Strike PC is the best version of the game.

Good game! It can get boring at times and can glitch sometimes but overall like the style and gameplay. Not really worth the price but when it goes on sale I recommend buying it.

First Strike is a fun RTS with a topical theme around Nuclear war and the devastation it would cause. Unfortunately, the PC version is incredibly lacking compared to its mobile counterpart, missing a sizeable number of countries, superweapons, and other features. In exchange, you get multiplayer on PC, which is absent on the mobile version. Why play PC over the mobile version? The mobile version employs a freemium model of ad-supported content by default, with a (low priced) monthly subscription to remove them (also unlocks all content by default, instead of having to grind every available superpower to unlock the newer ones) -- there is no option to pay once to remove ads and naturally progress yourself through the game like you do on the PC version, you either pay monthly, or don't pay at all. The PC version at least has the benefit of not having any ads at all, and being a simple one-time purchase, however as previously mentioned, lacks a lot of the content in the mobile version, making it hard to recommend when talking exclusively about content. Should you get First Strike? - the cons: The difficulty scaling can feel random sometimes, as depending on which country you are, which countries you're up against, etc. the AI enemies can randomly decide to either ignore you, or focus solely on you, or anything in-between, making the game sometimes near impossible, and sometimes incredibly easy where you just simply wait out the AIs to nuke each other to oblivion before firing a single volley at the last country standing where they'll surrender. As previously mentioned, the content is lacking compared to its mobile counterpart, with a bunch of superpowers, their respective superweapons, and a bunch of gameplay modifiers all missing from the PC version, since the PC version is based on "First Strike: Classic" not the modern mobile version of First Strike. Should you get First Strike? -- the pros: Whether you've experienced the mobile version or not, the game is incredibly fun. No two games feel quite identical due to the mix of superpowers you can go up against, and their behaviour towards you changing frequently from alliances to bitter rivals. The gameplay feels well refined on PC, and I often feel much more in control of what's going on compared to the mobile version, thanks to the mouse controls compared to touch controls and the level of preciseness I find myself gaining from that in interacting with the UI and game world. Other things to note: You can play the mobile version of First Strike with emulators such as BlueStacks, so if the PC controls are a requirement for you, but you want the extra content of the mobile version, there is still a way to enjoy this game for you. Should you buy First Strike: Final Verdict: If you want a solid RTS with a very important real-world theme, then this is a great choice. It has its problems, some of which will likely never be solved, but I can't complain about the experience I get from the game. However, the fact that the mobile version, which is stuck behind the same scummy freemium models that all other mobile games use, has considerably more content to offer, is a disappointing reality after spending ยฃ8.99 GBP on the PC version, and I feel that much has to be highlighted. TL;DR: A great game, with some serious flaws, least of all being that the mobile version has considerably more content but stuck in a freemium model.
