I've played over 6 hours at the time of writing this review. This game is a certified banger. It's an excellent entry into the subset of life simulator games where the world is deliberately strange and uncanny. The game mechanics are surprisingly detailed, and the progression is extremely open-ended. There are quests and side quests to follow, but it seems like you could totally ignore them if you wanted and simply farm. Farming is broken down into several different options between crops, livestock, and resource production, and you're not required to do any of it. Build your humble farm empire with a diverse range of goods to sell and acquire more advanced machinery to become even more self-sustaining, or...do none of that. As far as I can tell the only absolute requirement of the game loop is that you survive another day, and how you do that is largely up to you. Narrow your focus on mastering a single cash crop, or eschew the farm entirely and be a hunter or fisherman. Supplement your needs with thievery, explore and discover lost treasures, it's really up to you. Like other simulator games with this depth of mechanics, there is a bit of a learning curve, but I found it to be much more intuitive than other games in the genre. The game doesn't hold your hand, but everything you need to make your life choices work is available to you in a logical way. Want to focus on hunting? Make the most of your starting gun/ammo, save some food for yourself and sell the rest plus pelts in town to buy more ammo, repeat. Eventually you can scale this up and create more valuable goods with the pelts using advanced machinery. How big or small you go is up to you. This is exactly how a life sim should operate- the option to do everything or nothing and all in between. Quests aren't difficult, but they require more of the player's attention than most RPGs because there are no quest markers or arrows to follow. You have to refer to quest text to know what you're looking for. This might annoy some players, but in fairness it's arguably a more realistic approach to quest mechanics. Any time I felt like I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do next, the answer was inevitably to just keep searching around the quest area because I simply hadn't found the thing yet. Once I got used to this style of questing they no longer felt opaque. The graphics aren't cutting edge but they're much better than they need to be, and the story and characters have all the bizarre charm you look for in a weirdo life/chore simulator. While games like this often come with a lot of "jank" baggage, in 6 hours I've only experienced one true bug (my house door is stuck in the open position,) and it isn't game breaking (the door staying open has no negative effects.) This game is quite an accomplishment for the genre. Very much hoping for further expansions of the base game or more DLC.

THIS GAME IS VERY BUGGY but by god is it fun and addicting! Most bugs can be fixed by just loading a save game or repositioning Kazimir. My biggest complaint is that the drag and drop inventory sucks and that I wish there was more story, it's rather sweet. It is very quirky and the bad graphics and odd lighting only add to the game in my opinion. I love farming simulators, historical games, and weird games....this hits all three niches.

This is good game in a turbulent sea of games published by Playway SA. To be honest, I had about given up on games published by Playway due to all the other games that are garbage, or stay in EA forever with little to no movement (AND try to sell a DLC at that point!), or are literally abandoned in crap state to make a new game, but this is an exception and I am glad that I took the chance on it. I am an indie sim fan and put hundreds of hours into relatively obscure titles, and this is well above many other indie sims, IMO. What sets this game apart is its unique premise and tone, coupled with an impressive crafting system that particularly shines in areas like cooking. Survival elements are not overdone, offering an added challenge that is still enjoyable. Even activities like farming, fishing, and hunting, often just a click or two and boring in similar titles, manage to hold their own here. Sure, there are some little bugs, but nothing game breaking so far, and a job well done for a small indie dev team. So far, my primary gripe lies with the accelerated passage of time within the game - a month passing in a couple hours of real time can get overwhelming. However, it adds a layer of strategic depth, forcing players to master time management. Learn to prioritize and multi-task, and don't try to go too big on anything. Another minor annoyance is the nonsensical mumbling of NPCs, which adds little value and can become grating. Wish I could turn that off like we can for the protagonist. The game's fair pricing sets it apart from its competitors. At a time when other titles are overpriced and underwhelming, this one stands as a shining example of value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Also bought the DLC, unnecessary for me personally, but as a small token of appreciation for the developers.

I just wish to say Awesome! I was a bit skeptical first hour and a lot of what the heck? Then it grabbed me, this game is so much fun. So much fun that would and is an easy fast deal breaker for me is : I do not ever play any game that is not game pad friendly, period. With their latest update, it rendered my controller useless and forcing me to use a keyboard and mouse which is a struggle for me as I am an 100% disabled US Air Force veteran. I play a lot slower and must readjust my keyboard and set up. That being said this game has me laughing and having a lot of fun that I will keep playing it for another reason. The Devs. They have updated and stayed on top of this game and not left people behind. I give it a highly recommended review, New addition, The devs fixed the game pad issue in less than 12 hours so it is very game pad controller friendly and this is a must play game for anyone who likes farming/building/open sand sims. Peace, Mark
