Far Cry 5 is one of the best games in the series. The environment, the villain, and the story are pretty good. The side quests and characters are also quite fun. Achievements Required time: 65-75 hours Difficulty (in my opinion): 6 out of 10 DLCs required for 100%?: Yes, 3 (Lost on Mars, Hours of Darkness, Dead Living Zombies) Getting 100% of the achievements is also quite varied and not too grindy. The main game itself makes up about 40-50% of the time needed for 100%, and you only have to learn about half of the skills and collect a small portion of the collectibles. So, it doesn’t overstay its welcome. The game includes a few co-op achievements, but they can be completed quickly with a partner. There aren't any really missable achievements. So you can take your time and enjoy the game at your own pace. The three DLCs are more time-consuming, though only the last one (Dead Living Zombies) presents a medium-level challenge. There’s also an annoying achievement requiring you to kill 5000 zombies... but at least there's a trick to do it AFK. Finally, you need to replay the main game in New Game+ on the hardest difficulty. That might sound tough, but if you use the Mars DLC weapons, you can basically melt every enemy’s face off. :-P Apart from a few sections where you're stuck with a preset loadout, the difficulty becomes trivial.

This game was fun. It is not the best in the series, nor is it the worst, but man do I hate having to follow a character for 10 minutes while they dump their childhood traumas on me (looking at you Jess). Jess is the most egregious case, but there will be multiple times where you have to follow a character and I swear Ubisoft just does this to extend playtime. And why the fuck am I faster than them if we are meant to be walking together. Its so annoying to have to adjust my pace to theirs especially due to how slowly they fucking walk. But anyways that is honestly my only very big annoyance with this game and with a lot of Ubisoft games actually, but besides that, its a very solid entry in the franchise. All 4 villains are fantastically portrayed and it really is a shame that they decided to go with a silent protagonist, some banter between dep and John would've been fun to listen to, something in similar fashion to what we had between Ajay and Pagan in FC4. I wish I could say the same about the allies we get, but I already forgot all of their names except for Jess, Hurk and the 3 fucking animals. Barely any of them are memorable and the allies that are important to the story, some of them you almost never get to see them as the story progresses. Also Montana is beautiful. Not in the podium but at least top 4 when it comes to Far Cry games. Time for DLCs. Hours of Darkness, Lost on Mars and Dead Living Zombies are the only content expansions for Far Cry 5. The deluxe pack just gives you vehicles/weapons to use in the main campaign. As for the three big expansions, Hours of Darkness and Lost on Mars are the only ones worth checking out. Dead Living Zombies is a waste of time and getting the achievement for 5000 zombie kills was mind numbing. 7/10

If you liked 3,4 you are gonna like 5 because it's essentially the same game. It's fine for far cry entry, nice location, fun weapons, nice music, the setting, repetitive tasks, doesn't break any wall but it's good game to play with a deep discount.
