I love this game. But I have one problem with it. I hate when I'm doing a simulation and a real life country forms. I wish there was a setting where you can make it so no real life countries form. I wish it would form made up countries with made up names.

Early access review. Its still a little rough around the edges and needs more optimization and some UI work, but the bones are definitely there. When I was in high school I loved doodling fantasy maps and daydreaming about various epic battles the various nations would have rather than paying attention to whatever, and this is basically the electronic version of that. Sometimes the battles were decided by the end of class, sometimes they continued in detention.

This is the game I have been waiting for. I'm excited for new additions as well. I would like to see actual fantasy races with different traits added and maybe a magic system. Of course, I would love just to be about to see a normal human would as well. The was this could go is staggering. Here are my future wishes: -Fantasy Races with different traits. Nations of those races but maybe their populations intermingled as well. Half races if they intermingle. -Blank map starts with no nations formed. Real historical simulation with tribes and city states that maybe become larger empires organically. -Option for magic in the world and powerful wizards -Individual tracking. History of rulers, heroes, academics, religious leaders, etc. with traits and achievements. -Family trees, marriages, children, etc. -Language system with possibility of new languages growing organically. -Deeper organic religion and culture system with tracking events. New cultures, religions can be formed and gods worshipped. New sects. Culture and religion influence how the states orb cities operate and what their goals are. Culture and religion expand or decline organically beyond state borders based on conditions. -Technological progress up to a certain point. No modern era. Or players be able to cap the tech progress. -Deep trading and resources with trade routes tracked by sea and land. Imports and exports tracked. Farming, mining, fishing, hunting, etc. -Economic simulation with costs for military, etc. -Motivations and goals for individuals in the world -Mountain ranges, deserts, tundra, ice, forests, etc. -Civil wars, Vassal states, Old states coming back, Sieges, Blockades, Slavery, etc. -Random disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, etc. but also the potential for mythical beasts like dragons, giants, dark wizards, spiders, krakens, undead, etc. Maybe even be able to tame them. I.e. dragon riders -Different army makeup. Foot soldiers, archers, cavalry, siege weapons, peasants. Makeup would depend on economy and availability of resources near them or trading for. -Different weapon material depending on available resources and skill of technology or magic. -Global emergencies that could wipe out mostv of the world and lead to a world reset. -God powers for the player. -Clickable cities with details of its population, key people, history, key buildings, demographics, etc. -Named geography such as oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, mountains, deserts, forests, etc.

As someone who's interested in using this to map out a campaign setting for D&D and/or other tabletop games, I'd really like to see an option that would allow the "player" to set up details (country names and their religious and cultural details, for example) for the various nations on the map before pitching head-long into developing the world's history. It's hard to customize when the game starts the action immediately.

A pretty solid Auto war type game (I'm not really certain what to call it, nor if there even is a genre for it). Played it back when the demo came out, and really not too much to the naked eye changed. I'm sure that there are quite a number of things that have changed, but I'm not that smart. Anyways, onto the pros and cons: Pros: - It looks good, and you can usually tell which country is which by their borders. - Great performance wise, though that's a bit obvious. - I personally like the way the armies "snake" around when they are attacking another country. Cons: - There is no clear "progression". Each country has armies, with the amount they can control limited with the amount of provinces they have. - Every army starts with a starting unit count of 2000, which I feel doesn't make much sense. I feel that some armies should be smaller than others, and some should be larger. - Each army is the same in strength. Though, depending on the traits of the countries, some armies WILL be stronger, more just means stronger. - Armies don't replenish lost units, or at least from what I saw, though I could be wrong. I know there are more cons, but that doesn't mean that this game is bad, it's pretty solid for just having released into EA. Personally though, I feel their should be a sort of progression. Where depending on religion, state type, traits, they have a different type of progression. I mean where if you gain a higher tech level from research, though not limited to tech. I feel as it is fantasy, it would only feel right to include magic, and divine power depending on religions. Well, this was a bit longer that I was going to write, but I just wanted to put my personal feelings down. I hope the Dev keeps up with the good work. For a final check off, I'd probably give it a 6/10. Though as an EA release, I'd probably give it an 8/10, as I am comparing it to other similar games I've played that have been out for a lot longer.
