False Myth is a great game, however it presents a few barriers that keep it from having Overwhelmingly Positive Reviews. Like all games published by Kagura Games this is an Adult only SNES Style JRPG game with the sexual content stripped out. It needs to be patched, and for me at least Windows mistook the patch as a virus. That’s a problem. I told Windows anti-virus to exempt the False Myth game folder and the game plays. A lot of people aren’t going to want to mess with this, which is a shame, because this game is worth the trouble. Also, the banner isn’t attractive and the name “False Myth” is – meh. I bought the game years ago and never played it. I was missing out. In False Myth you take the role of a wandering adventurer with a heart of gold. You are introduced as a female but transformed into a male in the first few minutes of the game. This is a typical harem plot, but the harem is small consisting of three love interests. You don’t choose which of the three girls that you need to romance, the story requires you to cultivate your relationship with all three pretty much equally. The story is told through pixel art animated cut-scenes that are charming and beautiful but sometimes look a little muddy. The story and characters are fun and engaging. Despite this being an adult title, the gameplay is stellar. You take a single support character, which is one of the three girls, through linear “dungeons” that play like a board game. You choose how far along the board you move by playing cards from your hand. You choose whether to land on a monster, a trap, a treasure chest, or some other benefit along the board based on the cards that you are holding. Combat is a rock-paper-scissors affair, but the game provides hints about what your opponent can play from their hand so this isn’t a game of random chance. It is a game of deduction, and it is awesome. The game tutorials are very good at teaching the game without making you feel like you are spending all your time reading. You don’t have to try and find your way through endless mazes and the game always tells you what you need to do next. The story is punchy with enough changes that it never gets boring. The adult content is naughty and amusing, but not arousing. It is integrated well with the story and gameplay and I do recommend patching the game. False Myth kept me engaged and entertained for awhile. I think the gameplay and even the story is comparable to some of the best JRPGs that I’ve played. I give False Myth a 10 out of 10.
This game more story than 18+ and it is pretty fun and chill surprisingly dark at some point too. Edit. I finish the game after 15 hours the game truly well written and there are a lot of game play. Safe to say that this is more like if old pixel final fantasy series has s3x systems it will totally be this game. Sorry for g00ner but this game is too wholesome to f^p. I come to f^p but end up stay for story instead.
