The game is not worth the £54 it is, if you want it get it when its on sale. The character models & expressions are clunky and some of the animation just doesn't flow well at all. For something that is more expensive than Red Dead Redemption 2 on it's release I was expecting a lot more, like, maybe more than just a third of the characters having models? HOWEVER this is a fun game if you like Fairy Tail. It gives a watered down version of the plot of the GMG Arc (what I've played to so far) and I am enjoying it. The combat and controls are extremely easy to get the hang of and it's pretty smooth and fun to figure out the most efficient way to get rid of enemies without using too much magic power. It's also really cool to look around and explore the towns/areas that I watched on screen growing up. The music, while lacking the iconic Fairy Tail theme, goes super hard and fits well with the scenes (most of the time) and the voice acting is fantastic. please for the love of all that is holy wait until its on sale again so it'll actually be a fun game not a 5ishGB waste of money that you regret paying for that keeps you up at night thinking about what you could've done with the money instead. Overall, it's really a 'healing your inner child' type game. I'm thoroughly enjoying it as its super unserious and just fun to play :) Also p l e a s e look at Natsu's walking animation, I haven't laughed that hard in ages.

I've watched the Fairy Tail anime close to a decade ago. I was a big fan of the series back then and playing the game helped me re-live some nostalgia. The game is a condensed adaptation of the Grand Magic Games, Tartaros, and Avatar Arcs. The story may be confusing for players unfamiliar with the series but it was perfect for me. Gameplay though slow-paced at times is surprisingly fun. There are a lot of original skits and interactions that weren't present in the anime/manga. The presentation was good, the environments were beautiful, and it makes me hopeful for an open-world Fairy Tail title in the future. Overall Fairy Tail is very polished and definitely one of the better anime video game adaptations out there. amazing game. combat is very simple, but the story and settings are amazing. runs amazingly on steam deck, just try not to put in in sleep mode, as it can cause audio issues

As someone who loves fairytail I have thoroughly enjoyed this so far. I love the take on fairytail and it's perfect for any fan, look forward to the next one. My only quaint is lack of english voice actors but I get that. For those wondering about steamdeck compatability it is officially "unsupported" but I have managed to get it to run perfectly audio and all by using Proton-49 and a specific boot command for audio problems during cutscenes. Check the Protondbs website second solution for those details.

Overall: 7/10 I came to play this game for the simple reason to re-watch the story since the new 100 years quest is coming out, and wanted to play a turned based game so it filled in. And was not much disappointed. Since its an anime game, I was expecting an awful game, but it was kind of good so I was happy with it.Positive:-You get to see all the fairy tail story in this game, which is a good reminder of such. -Get to play with your favorite characters from the anime. -Good variety on the abilities and each character is unique. -Turned based wise it is a pretty good implementation of the genre.Neutral:-Achievements are pretty fun to do except the complete all the requests, there is to much repetition on that.Negative:-Repetitive, a LOT repetitive quests, at the end it is kind of boring. -Since it follows the anime story the end part is kinda boring and nonsense. -You are forced to use certain characters in certain missions it gets frustrated since you are obligated to evolve specially Natsu and Lucy, since you are going to use them a LOT.Final thoughts:Its a good game if you are a fan of the anime and want to relieve the story and play with your favorite characters and you want a turned based game.
