This game is recommended for any Fairy Tail fans. The game is easy to complete and it brings back memories of the anime itself. For those who complains and thumbs down the game because its not a "good JRPG" ignore them. One Piece was not the best musou game, Naruto / demon slayer / DBZ is not the best fighting game. We played them because we are fans and want to experience what we saw in the anime. If the original price is too high wait for them to go on sale. For me it was worth it and I have about 50 hrs into it.

Fairy Tail, the game. First off, the story is entirely that of the anime, starting from the return after the 7-year time skip due to the tenrou island incident and spanning over the entire grand magic games, tartaros, dragon king festival plot, with the post-game content revolving around the 10-year and 100-year quest. The story isn't anything new, merely interjected with some gameplay between cutscenes sometimes. It's enjoyable, but you probably won't unterstand much if you haven't already watched the show since the introduction to the world is basically cut. Since the game isn't allowing itself to be it's own thing and basically only "the game to the movie", it can feel repetetive if you've already watched the show. The way the story is represented is good, I like the little quests you can do on the side while following the main story. The fighting style is turn-based, persona-esque. You builld your team of 5 characters and once you leave the guild hall, those are your only accessible characters. You collect different attacks and strengthen them by ranking up characters. Nothing new, nothing special. It serves for very relaxed gameplay since you have all the time in the world to decide on which attack to use. The final system of strengthening characters (via the magic orb unlocked at the end of the story) is absolutely redundant, since you need to level up a character to lvl 99 to use it, and by then they're already powerfull enough to breeze through most encounters with ease, and you won't be able to use it for the story anymore anyway. Absolutely useless feature. The sound design is alright, it fits well enough for most scenes, but it's nothing special. The music is the awesome fairy tail music we know and love, also fits the scenes well, I love it. The voice-acting is, as expected from the japanese, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ impeccable 10/10, would listen again. The post-game is... boring as ♥♥♥♥. It's just a "oh, go here, fight this character" over and over again. It gets annoying quickly, probably only somethign for hardcore fans or those that want to get all awards. Otherwise unfun bloat. The outfit design is great, you can unlock more via progressing through the story, some are DLC-content only. The attacks look great as well, the character design is in this typical "only one expression most of the time" anime-game style. All in all, it's a game for fans. You won't really get much fun out of the game if you don't already know the characters and story and adore them. On the other hand, if you are a fan then you can relive the story in your own pace, play as (some) of your favourite characters, enjoy a simple fighting style and just run around the city, finishing up quests and building bonds with all the characters. I can't in good conscience recommend it for the price that it is and the amount of gameplay it has in comparison, but if you're a fan and get it on sale, go ahead!

The story starts at a really late part of the anime (ep. 160 or something), so if you haven't watch the anime or read the manga, i guess you wont really know whats going on. The controls are good on the controller, haven't tried the keyboard but i heard its kinda messy. As a fairy tail fan, i really enjoy this game. Recommended!

Good game to play to kill some time, the combat can get to become a grind but you can autobattle and turn off the battle animation, story follows the manga so don't buy if you think it'll be a new story. would recommend at discount not full price.
