Exit the Gungeon isn't as good as Enter the Gungeon, but you shouldn't expect it to be. It's a fun spinoff that costs less and is meant to be a shorter experience. I enjoy this game and I think Enter the Gungeon enjoyers might like it to if they give it a chance.

I was expecting a game just like Enter the Gungeon, and instead I got something entirely different. The graphics, the items, weapons and mechanics, the characters, are mostly the same as of the previous game... But the game becomes more of a platformer game, with some new mechanics to keep it a refreshing, new game. Also, this is a much lighter game, runs are shorter, difficulty is much lower, but also most loot doesn't feel as good as it would in the previous game. Nonetheless, boss fights are even more intense than the previous game, soundtrack is just as amazing, and the bullet hell element is still ever-present, leaving that satisfying gungeon feel. It's really worth playing if you enjoyed Enter the Gungeon. And while entering the gungeon took waaaay longer and lots more struggle, exiting will feel like a walk in the park - but a pleasurable one.

I liked it when they exited the Gungeon and they said it was Gungeoning time and they Gungeoned all over the place upsides is funny combo's and stuff and random gun mode is now a starting thing. downsides feels like i am limited on power unlike in Binding of issac and the game is now a 2D platformer No buttplug support.

I'm a firm believer that 90% of the negative reviews are just from people who compare this game to Enter the Gungeon, Exit the gungeon is a really different game that utilizes the base of the old game such as enemies, guns ect... and reinvent them in a new mode, the platformer is actually really fun, a lot of old bosses come back but in a different and creative way, the pacing and movement are very fast which is something that I personally really enjoy. I feel like this game is more arcade than the 1st game, which is something you can prefer or not. Other than this, expect a much different game from Enter the Gungeon but enjoy a game that reinvents it.

I was honestly expecting a challenge, like Enter the Gungeon. It is definitely a lot friendlier to newcomers of the Bullet Hell Genre, but it isn't the kind of game I was expecting. Unlike Enter the Gungeon - where it took me at least 20-30 attempts before beating the "final" boss, the High Dragun - I beat Exit the Gungeon on my first (and only) run of the game. Not saying the game is bad. I was simply expecting the difficulty to be as high as - if not higher than - Enter the Gungeon, and without that difficulty, I simply do not enjoy the game; for me, part of the game is the challenge.
