I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is even considering being interested, though I very much wish there was more content to explore.

Take Stardew Valley, remove the annoying bits, and you have Everafter Falls. Charming, cute, engaging, and fun. By FAR my top Stardew-style game since Stardew Valley. The only drawback, I would say, is so far there's no romance options, and at this point, I don't think there is any. It wasn't exactly the highlight of my Stardew experience, so I'm not that upset, but for some, this might be a sticking point. End of the day, though, it completely eclipses nearly every Stardew-like out there, has its own charm, and is utterly enjoyable. Not only that, so far, the game actually appears finished. May wonders never cease.

My review has been addressed by the Dev replying to me and there's also a QoL update coming in the future that fixes a lot of the issues/cons I had. Thanks SquareHusky! ^^ Disclaimer: I have changed my review with some criticism but I will leave it recommended since most of the helpful thumbs up was when it was positive. Pros, Cons, and Tips will still be at the bottom but I want to give a heads up of potentially being blocked from progressing (I have seen a few other people stuck from getting to the second dungeon due to the tappers) I was excited for this game for a while and played the recent demo for almost 10 hrs. I buy it as soon as it releases and so far have 6ish hours into a safe file. I finished the first dungeon by mid Summer which is the season that all players start in. In order to unlock the second dungeon aka progress through the story, I needed two things: Moonflower, Water Sap. The Moonflower grows at the end of every season so it's safe to say that a dungeon will be unlocked once a month which there is a total of 3 after the first one. The Water Sap is when things started to go down hill from me. You can get the delicate tapper from a quest line if you bring in Maple Syrup but in order to craft the Evaporator to make the syrup, it needs Super Glue. Super Glue can be crafted with the Box and Pine Resin from the normal tapper that takes 7 days on the trees. Super Glue is needed twice because it also needs to be used to create Empty Bottles that Maple Syrup goes into. You get one free tapper and I made another but essentially it needs 2 Box Resin, 2 Pine Resin, and 2 Maple Resin. Since each resin takes a week to make and I only had 2, it basically took me 3 weeks aka 21 in game days. The tapper doesn't take much to make (Ropes is the main ingredient) but I did not realize how much resins I would need to get the Maple Syrup for the Delicate Tapper for the Water Sap. Once the Maple Syrup is turned in, the Delicate Tapper takes 5 days for the Water Sap. I finished the first dungeon by Summer 16th and have been unable to return to the dungeons and I'm almost at Winter. By the time the delicate tapper gives me the Water Sap, I will be on Autumn 24th. /: Pros: No stamina, fast movement speed and ways to increase it too, the idea of a pet doing the farm work is interesting, museum aka lots of donating and items not donated are marked, npcs show on map and icons in letters, world doesn't get dark at night time, lots of decorating options, fun events with good rewards, story driven and easy mode Cons: No romance, no proper friendship with the npcs, fishing is a bit boring, lack of clear instruction sometimes that could leave people confused, some minor bugs such as npcs opening up their shop early (which is actually good) but some npcs arrive at events late, drone aka backpack upgrade costs 3k and only gives 4 extra slots (?); have to rely on cards to improve it QoL Otw: No mini fishing game, some new instructions such as the mines for new players, drone costing 2.5k instead of 3k now Tips - Moat Farm for bricks that are used for a lot of stuff such as the rope maker - Make lots of resin tappers, if you want to actually not be stuck for 3+ weeks; craft 6 which is 20 ropes so make sure to cut all those grass for it (This will be adjusted so depending on ur time reviewing this, it could be implemented or on it's way) - Shipping bin is outside of Cids Store. Make sure to read the board next to it - Forageables are marked with a number / total of what it can give. Such as a mushroom will be 2/6, wait for it to be maxed out or close enough before picking it up - Tree stumps grow mushrooms so leave a few on the farm - Don't go on easy mode if you want to unlock hard mode because only normal mode unlocks hard mode after beating the final boss - Choose HP ring from Dawn's quest of the first runes, then HP pet healing card from Daisy's delivery quest and that will be good enough as there are lots of treasure rooms on normal mode so you easily get items that can help you out

Keeps the core idea of your typical Farming simulator game (Going so far as to make fun of the Big Three Stardew/Harvest/Animal). What it does however is put it's own unique spin onto the genre to make it extremely unique from it's competitors. Just off the top of my head that i can recall: [*] Much more casual/relaxed (No stamina system + Shops are always open Shops have a larger open window + No tool durability) [*] Very unique spins on typical mechanics (Fishing pachinko + pet farming + card/skill acquiring) [*] Art direction/style (Simple but with many customizations especially for furniture) [*] Comprehensive dungeon/rpg system [*] Split screen coop (I haven't seen this in a long time!) [*] Interesting premise with a vague campaign/story/quest to follow The only gripe that comes to mind is the lack of explanations when starting the game for the first time (Besides the basic go here, do this, learn that quests). Specifically, the lack of explanations for the control leaves a lot of guesswork to the player. For the most part it was intuitive but i can see this becoming a bit of an issue for people not familiar with the genre. I do hope the game get's more exposure and sales. Just playing the demo for a single day was enough to convince me to make a purchase.

I'm a sucker for farming games, and this is a good one! The art is great with unique looking characters. There are several things, including no stamina and a very helpful pet, that set this apart from other farming games. I also really dig the no rush vibe and all of the funny dialogue!
