A cozy little adventure, especially if taken with friends. The lighting, overall mood and narration make it quite immersive and fun to play. The puzzles have a good variety and the potion brewing system works very well, especially as in multiplayer the potions, like the inventory, are shared. A fast and somewhat experienced group of three can beat the game in 2 to 3 hours and without it ever getting boring.
base settings in my experience made me very motion sick very quickly. if you have the same issue, i'd recommend turning OFF vsync and mouse smoothing. regardless, the game is great. there are lots of interesting puzzles and rooms to open up. the playspace does admittedly get a little confusing as you continue to find more things but the game doesn't really ask you to always recheck every room if you find a tool or something. they had some pretty neat tricks that i dont see a ton of other similar games do. at least not in the same capacity.
An amazing sequel in the "Escape First" series - the quality imporvement through the series is visible in this one the most. Very cool effects and challenging puzzles. The rooms are very atmospheric and highly details. Sound is amazing but sometimes a bit to loud - and we deactivated the ingame microphones while playing 2 player coop. Couple of glitches here and there but nothing game breaking. The only big negative point are the blocked puzzles and items if you play a coop game and another player is looking at it first so you have to take turns to look at everything. But we still a lot of fun and enjoyed it! Looking forward to the sequel which is already anounced.
Highly recommend playing. I played co-op with my husband and we enjoyed playing together. The puzzles were challenging but we were never stuck for long (only 1 puzzle got close to frustrating us). Usually in an escape room game, you fully use everything in one room then move to the next, which makes puzzles easier. With this game though, you used the entire map the entire time, which added a layer of challenge.
Absolutely brilliant. Fun puzzles, from simple to moderate difficulty (for me, at least.) and a fun atmosphere with a lot of puns and nods to other games and gamer culture. As someone who studies Alchemy and medieval occultism this was a breath of fresh air as it really does hold up a fair few points those who take up the hobby of researching it will appreciate. If you know, you know. A very un-serious but fantastic game. Highly recommended. Definitely worth the price. Devs put some love into it, so don't get it on sale, it's already cheap enough as it is. Thanks for the awesome little puzzle game that was just right for my niche hobby!
