A fun puzzle game! Inspired by escape rooms, Escape Academy is a welcomed puzzle title best enjoyed in Co-Op, like I did with my friend ABird. The adventure is made up of various creative levels, with every level containing enigmas to solve based on the environment. Most of them are fairly intuitive but some can be quite mind-twisting. The narrative premise is definitely wacky, but it works well enough to give the players something to play for; a background lore that is not meant to be taken seriously. Overall Escape Academy is an alright experience, one best explored in two.
A fun game! I played with my partner as a co-op game because we were looking for a not-too-stressful coop option, and this worked well! It is about 5-ish hours to complete the main set of 12 escape rooms, so I would probably try to get it on sale just from a content perspective--we haven't finished the DLC yet, but did also get that on sale as well and look forward to playing it. We had a great time working through the puzzles! They weren't too hard, usually made sense, and there was a nice amount of variety in the types of tasks you had to do to complete each level. Some people may find it too easy especially if they're experienced puzzle-solvers, though this is an area where I think playing coop really helps--it's a lot more fun to celebrate even easy wins with someone else. The "story" of the game isn't anything particularly complicated or revolutionary, but it was fun to have something tying each escape room together and give plenty of background/scenery variation and detail--I was prone to giving each of the characters different goofy voices throughout the game. I especially liked how there were usually jokes or fun comments on items when you interacted with them but they weren't part of the puzzle solution, it made me smile more than once. Overall, a fun game and a great option for virtual coop if you aren't in the mood for the usual minecraft/overcooked/jackbox suggestions that usually come up when you start looking for coop games. I would try to get it on sale due to price, though to be honest I say that with nearly every game on steam at this point.
