Erica. A great but pretty short live action thriller. This game gives us a complicated plot. You can beat this game in under 2 hours BUT in "Erica" your choices really matter. In contrast to other "choices matter" games you are actually building your own endings. The majority of the games in this genre are imitating choice matter and you go through the same events and similar endings. Here, in Erica, a playthrough of the entire game takes about 2 hours, but your choices can change the story. You can kill someone somewhere or can not do that OR you just might not get this opportunity. You can choose different locations to visit or hide and find notes there that reveal the truth about what's happening and this is exactly what i like in this game.

INTRO Erica is a live-action FMV game where you interact with objects by freely pushing, pulling, rotating, and moving them. I just know directing this game would've been a nightmare, but the end result is that it feels like a Telltale game. WRITING Engaging. It's paced really well and the characters are interesting, as they deal with different universal themes. The acting performances are great across the board, and I have a crush on Holly Earl now. The writing and world-building are internally consistent, while the dialogues are okay. The endings' subtexts are a bit rushed, though. CINEMATOGRAPHY Striking. The colour grading, shot selection, blocking, framing, and composition are really elite, even wallpaper-worthy at times. I really wish that this was on Letterboxd, so I could log it. VIBE/ATMOSPHERE Immersive. Along with the impeccable cinematography, the SFX here does a lot of the heavy lifting. It's a really moody crime-thriller with some open-ended/ambiguous plot points, and it tells you just enough to keep you hooked. REPLAYABILITY This is really important for games of this genre. Depending upon your choices, it could take anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete. There are multiple endings and several branches, so at least two playthroughs are recommended. It really takes advantage of its medium. RATING 9/10

Buy if it's like 3 USD. Otherwise pass. It's barely a game, but the ending is nice

This game I think is no bad, the story, acting and the way to interact things is great. But what I don't like is that I cannot save anytime I want and load back to play back. It make me replay whole story to achieve other ending. 7/10

Right after finishing the game, I really liked it and thought it was great. However, during my second playthrough, after having some time to reflect, I concluded that it's not actually that amazing. But hey, I still liked the acting, the story, and the variety of choices. The different paths genuinely feel distinct; they provide unique information and allow you to get to know different characters better. The second playthrough was interesting enough, but I won't be starting a third. While there are still three endings left and several paths I haven't explored, watching the same scenes without a fast-forward option just isn't worth it, especially since I covered most of the game in my first two runs. I also feel like the story isn't completely resolved. I expected more information, deeper explanations, clearer intent, and more concrete answers. Another downside is that (Spoiler) Blake dies no matter what you do. Playing for the first time, I thought I had just messed up, but it turns out his death is unavoidable. In general, it's a solid 8/10, taking the genre into account.
