Honestly? I got bored. It's alright, but that's about it. I'll preface by saying that I'm not particularly fond of overly meek girls who just go along with everything that happens to them without even trying to fight back in any way, shape, or form. And I get it, I know she's a very kindhearted nun, but there should be limits to how much nonsense she's willing to tolerate, especially at the very beginning of the game when she's still innocent and straight-laced. Compared to how I played Sharkdev's previous two games, I decided to go down the lust route right away this time around, and I wasn't convinced. The corruption was uncompelling precisely due to how much of a pushover Enishia is. She allows for very extreme acts to happen to her way, way, way too early in the game. And that is to a huge detriment to the pacing of events, the believability of her character development, and why it failed to impress me. First off, unlike his other two games, this one features a Monopoly style board game movement system. The result of your dice roll corresponds to how many steps you can take. At first it's fun, but the novelty quickly wears off and it becomes quite tedious towards the end. Roll dice, get 1. Move 1. Repeat. 200 tiles to go and you're running out of turns. Want to grind a particular node, fight an enemy, loot a chest or what have you? It's on tile 5. You roll a 6. You walk past it. Too bad. Now you either have to take the entire way around, skip it, or restart the dungeon. There are items you can buy that give you exact dice rolls with which you can circumvent the RNG, but for that you have to open the inventory, choose the item from 1 to 6, and use it every single time you want to visit a particular tile. Combined with very limited mana at a character's disposal for the use of their abilities and the requirement to constantly replenish it with food, drink, or potions, which are expensive at the beginning and have limited uses, alongside the possibility of rolling snake eyes for immediate skill failure in combat, this all adds up to become a real hassle after a while. While personally I'm not a fan of debt repayment premises, the story was solid overall. A bit too much info dumping at parts instead of following the "show, don't tell" principle, but still good enough. It's a shame that Sharkdev isn't a fan of writing more in depth side characters and building a proper rapport with them. The recruitable party members and other NPCs are all rather shallow and feel lacking. They don't contribute much to the growth of her character. As for the good stuff? Well, although the art is good, the VA is top tier, and the scenes themselves are well written, I'd say that the game fails to obfuscate the fact that it's a CG/scene hunter. The events feel like amusement park rides because they're all optional and when viewed they don't feel like they've made a huge impact on Enishia or the town itself. Sure, the status screens are detailed and elaborate and her reactions change based on her lust level, but ultimately that's about it. The lack of interconnectivity and reactions based on prior events make it appear as if they're all separate small stories, instead of parts of the bigger whole. The woman's bath is in disrepair and Enishia can take mixed baths right away. Although this pacing doesn't sit well with me because I don't think that a sheltered and shy girl such as herself would do that right away, the issue that I have with this is that it doesn't impact any other events at all. The patrons at the bar, the churchgoers, the various street peddlers and other event NPCs never bring this up or do anything about it, and the same applies for all the other events. It's due to this reason that the events feel like they exist in a vacuum. Later on she can become an escort. It doesn't take much convincing at all, again reason why the game didn't impress me. No contradictions or internal conflict about what she's about to do as a member of the clergy. Those are all conveniently swept away by her contract crests and lust level advancement. "Goddess forgive me." And that's all it takes. Again, this makes it appear shallow. And although the game features an interesting gossip system, displaying whisper text on the screen whenever she walks around town in her birthday suit, it never capitalizes on it or her job as an escort. There are no permanent or meaningful changes to any of the NPCs and her relationship with them outside of the events that directly involve them. Reason why I call it an amusement park or scene hunter. What would make it feel more organic is if the events had more prerequisites, if for instance convincing her to take a mixed bath required her to get used to bathing the orphans at the orphanage she's in charge of. Drinking at the bar would likewise require of her to first get used to alcohol at church, wine for instance during mass or such, her escort work would require her to first become more comfortable in both skimpier clothes, the male touch, and at the very least have a rapport built with an NPC who'd introduce her to this kind of work. If all events followed this example, it would make them far more believable and convincing because they'd create a certain flow and make it appear natural. Why is she suddenly wearing a skimpier habit? Not because of magic that compels her, instead because movement became an issue when she was fighting in the ruins and it became dangerous to keep it that way. Why is she okay with getting an experimental massage at the clinic? Because she got used to men's touch from all the perverts at the bar. Why did she allow them to touch her? Because she was a bit tipsy from the alcohol she drank. Why did she drink it? Because she got used to it from hosting her church services in order to obtain donations for the sake of the orphanage and her debt. See? That way it makes much more sense instead of it happening because her lust level is now 2. Anyway, I'll end this with a quick pros/cons list. +The art is good. His style is slowly but surely improving. +The H parts are well written and mostly voice acted and the VA he chose is good at it. Her voice is both soothing and sensual when need be. It's really good. Bonus points for the reactions she gives to dogs, cats, and even crabs (~wan wan, ~nyaaa, ~tsun tsun). I found it funny how she tried to imitate the sound that a shark would make to escape a sticky situation. That was brilliant. Her performance during H scenes is likewise excellent. She doesn't go overboard and acts in accordance to the confines of her role in terms of moans and other choice words. +There are a lot of status screens that cover a broad range of aspects, tracking not only her first time but also what she did and how often. +Like with his previous games, there's an abundance of events, poses, and situations... +Freedom to do a virgin run. -There are no undergarments in the game. No bras, no panties. Every costume is a one piece. -She's TOO meek. She allows for too much too early on, without a justifiable reason. -The dice game eventually becomes an inconvenience. It would be great if free movement was unlocked sometime during the story. Another personal nitpick that I have but which I cannot call a detriment, is that his girls don't have any hair at all or blood during the H events, but I can understand that this is his personal preference or stylistic choice, so it's a moot point. If you're already familiar with his games you can expect more of the same. If you aren't, I recommend Ambrosia over Enishia or even Celesphonia if you're more into the contemporary magical girl setting. They both left a stronger impression on me. I rate this game Nun/10.
