This game is alright, but it's way too RNG based. There's not enough control over any particular strategy/build you might want to go for, and most runs turn into a mess. Not saying there is absolutely zero control, just not nearly enough. I had fun with about the 3 or 4 runs out of like 50 that actually popped off, but outside of that it's just kinda okay I guess. Sure I won about 30% or 40% of all runs, but only those 3 or 4 were actually any fun. It might better if you could pick a starting rare minion and/or treasure relic of your choice, or had some mechanic that aimed a particular type of minions chances of appearing slightly more towards what you want instead of just rarer in general. I've had more than a few occasions where I would get treasure relics that looked great, but then would never find any minions that would fit them the entire run, or vise versa, only to get to the end and die. That's just frustrating. It could be so much better with a few adjustments, but for the price I'd say it's still worth a try.

Overall quite solid. The normal mode is nice to just vibe with. The games take around 15 minutes and there's a wide variety of builds for each character. Though, it feels a bit short sometimes, with the game ending just as your build comes together. It'd be nice if there was an option to continue to endless or just another 7 waves. It's also quite easy, even on the highest difficulties, and progress is per character so you have to work your way up again for each. The DLC item that lets you duplicate one of your units 5 times and also add 5 more final bosses to the board at once helps a bit in this regard. There's also a challenge mode which makes the game much much harder, with your units being able to die from fighting the adventurers, and an "endless" mode that goes up to 99 waves instead of 14. So, if the normal mode is too short or too easy for you, you can play the other modes to get your fix. There are some translation or text issues where you'll sometimes have no idea what something is supposed to mean and will just have to try it and find out or guess. Xiwangmu's units are good but a few of Barbatos's units had textboxes cut off.

Mind candy game for winding down and messing round with different combos - most combos are pretty successful up until the last few rounds of a game, in which you need to have your "engine" locked in by that time. Gameplay is fun - there are a lot of stats flying around and it can take a little time to get used to what's happening but sticking with it will make that easier and seeing the top-3 DPS after each fight helps tell you what's working well in your composition. I love that there's 2 different "bosses?" and each have completely different creatures and mechanics to learn. I hope there will be more "bosses" in future but this is just addictive to play as it is. There's also a daily and endless mode which unlock later. Something else as well which is new but I haven't got that far yet.... YET.

This is the hands down best "Luck be a Landlord"-inspired game, and easily rivals the top spot in the slot machine roguelike genre. If you're a fan of the genre, and haven't played this one, stop reading my review and just buy it.

Still needs some polish and there are translation issues (to English) but overall a fun drafting game.
