Great game, but as an electrician, I think it is kind of unfair that its stuck to the UK/ (EU?) style of Switches & receptacles. As a Canadian Electrician, would love to see the option to switch between different systems depending on location/ country. Otherwise, great game and great practice for irl! Really enjoy the workbench jobs. I'm even considering getting a solder iron for electronic repairs for myself irl!

I am leaving a positive review because the game is entertaining, but it is tagged as Education and I don't feel that it delivers on this. Electrician Simulator is a simulation game where you take the role of a fledgling electrician. You start as a garage operation, fixing small electronics and gradually working your way up to more complex on-site jobs. This game is a simulator, but it is not educational. The tutorials teach you how to operate the mechanics of the game but the concepts are not directly transferable to real world electrical work. It also doesn't even attempt to teach you best practices. For example, in the game you can wire up every single outlet and lamp in a house to the same breaker. You could do this in real life but it should be obvious why that's inadvisable. Nonetheless the game allows it and doing so doesn't affect your reputation score in any way. You will receive the same payment and reputation bump whether you've done a good job or just a satisfactory one. The small electronics repair part of the game doesn't educate you about much either. Determining if a component is defective or not is a simple click with the multimeter. For these reasons I think the Education tag should be removed from the Steam listing.

I'm not usually into these simulation games, but I'm an electrician and had to give it a go. The game is fun, though simplified a bit for the gaming crowd, of course. Finding the happy medium between realism and gameplay is something I leave to the developer. Some ideas: -American wires and receptacles, please. -Labels for the breakers would be nice, maybe even some nightmare DIY work mislabeled for fun. -Amp ratings, wire sizes and the ability to overload breakers. Bonus points for fire hazards of overloading wires. -Conduit for that beautiful professional look. -Maybe some kind of regional electrical code you can get fined for if you're installing devices. I'm sure not everyone wants to experience the full challenges of the trade, but I think adding a little more complexity would benefit the experience and maybe even encourage some more people to pursue a job in the trade.

Enjoyable Electrician Simulator Firstly, I'd like to say that I got the game when it was on sale. I love a good sale! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181219742 There's quite a bit that I appreciate with this game. Sure, if you aren't into electrical/technical, and creativity with electrical items, you may not enjoy this game as much as I have. I also have the DLC for this game (Smart Devices). It improves game play, in my opinion. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181205236 What I like about it: * Easy to navigate and activate, though I sometimes get confused and hit the wrong button. * Quite a few tasks to do * A bit more variety than just laying wires for a house. You can also repair things. * You can rewire your own place. * You can put many inventory items on the floor or ceiling until you are ready to use/install them. * The computer has sales for items. * You can favorite a certain repair job type that you enjoy. (workbench repairs) * You can choose which job you want to take * You can create a style of how you work (great for us with a bit of OCD) ~run lines neat and orderly, for example. * The sensors for seeing signals, currents, lines are easy to turn on and off. * Has a flashlight that is easy to turn on and off * Has warning for those with sensitivities when the game begins. (Seizures can be scary) * Has Achievements * Has Trading Cards * I'm sure there's other things I can't think of at the moment. Certificate of Competition, not Completion lol I'm confused. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3181227842 What I'm not fond of: * Limited inventory for stocking up on cables, switches, etc. Cables can not be sat down in garage (that I know of). * It can become tedious at times * Sometimes what you are supposed to do on a job is not exactly totally clear. * There's a grid you can't seem to hide. I think it's the zone that is picked up with the motion sensor in the DLC I got for the game. (This one may be DLC related only) * They are calling resistors capacitors. I saw another review about that and they are correct. It seems that everything in here is a capacitor. lol They need to fix that. (There's a youtube video that is good at teaching you the differences between resistors and capacitors). * I'm sure there's other things I can't think of at the moment. NOTE: I have forgotten to flip a breaker a few times. That shock you get. I almost feel like I can feel it, literally. Bzzzzt ! !

This game is good for people who doesn't study any kind of thing related to electricity (Eletrical/Electronic egineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering). The only bad point is that A LOT of RESISTORS are called CAPACITORS in electronic devices. This is a HUGE L for this game, but all the rest is good.
