Incredible game

I play Senet against my husband. It's the first board game he's played voluntarily. We have visited many archaeological Egypt exhibitions, so we have a rough idea of the ancient Egyptian underworld. As far as the game goes particularly like the part behind the House of Happiness, when we have to throw each other into the water or even go into the water on our own, because only the token on the House of Happiness can draw a one. I can recommend this game without hesitation to anyone for whom a virtual bath doesn't spoil their good mood.

If you like Backgammon, then this game is something up your alley, music overlaps and visuals are ok at best but the engine is solid. Mind you, Senet has many variations and the one this game adopts may not conform with what you are used to, but I found it quite enjoyable,

The AI on this game is laughably ludicrous. The AI cheats so obviously. It will give itself 8 to 14 moves each turn and the player only gets one move each turn and it is almost always a 2. You can choose the level of expertise of the AI player, but on the lowest level it just cheats less. This is better than nothing, but barely. Sadly, there are not a lot of traditional board games on Steam in general, and not many choices for Senet and related ancient games. There is a point in the game where it goes to a different screen showing some ancient writing. Do not know why it does this. I find it an annoying interruption.

A very clever and interesting game. Games can be short or long depending on how you and the AI play. I found the game baffling at first but within a few minutes I could understand and play. First game the AI got me but that second game well sorry, I win. What looks to be a very simple and boring game is far from what you will get once you start to play. I enjoyed everything about this game from the graphics to the music and the sounds to the game strategy. It is unique to say the least and is a game that should not be overlooked. Hope many more folks try this one as they may be a bit surprised!
