A weird game in the EDF Series to pin down. It's easier than other EDF Titles, which should attract newer players. It's simple art style and colorful aesthetics is inviting to most people. It's content is shorter than most EDF games. It's full of references that EDF fans should understand and like. But due to it being easier, a lot of fans didn't bother with it. But I'm having a blast, so far. It sort of is "baby's first EDF" But it's still fun. Mixing up your brothers and sisters to make interesting play styles, is a lot of fun. The story is good. It runs good, even on my older hardware. Lots of bugs to smash, shoot, blast, slice, and punch. The AI is less aggressive, so far (I've started Hard and it is warming up) than other EDF games. Full price is a bit much compared to other EDF titles, but I think the main detraction is that nobody plays it online. That is were the main draw of the other EDFs are, hoping into rooms with randoms and having fun. So far, it's been worth the sale price I got it for, even single player. Some common gripes form others, I just don't have. The controls are perfectly responsive, for me. Maybe they don't know how to adjust settings? The weapons feel good. A lot of special moves are meh, but others are great. It plays into the "mixing it up and see what works" aspect. (Use the genocide gun while getting damage buffed , etc) Some weapons don't seem to feel good, but it's mostly situational weapons or a few weird ones. "the sister dressed as a clown has a joke weapon, who would have guessed?" it actually does good damage but slows her down. I also think a lot of them just use what ever the brother or sister start with. Which can work but mixing it up and experimenting is what must be don't to see WHO can use a particular weapon the best. If you love EDF, I think you will like it and enjoy it. If you are unsure of EDF, as a series, this is a great jumping in point. It's simple and easy to jump into. Most of the negatives seem to be about price and content. which i get. But we are kinda lucky that newer games only cost 60 USD. While inflation has everything else up to insane levels.

A fun love letter to the edf franchise even including things from insect armageddon and making them work on top of that. My one complaint is that we never actually get to fight the motherships as they were always a fun spectical in every other edf game except for insect armageddon. Hopefully they will have fightable motherships in the upcoming world brothers 2

A very spinoff-y EDF, but one that understands the gameplay, tropes, humor and formula well. A loveletter to all things EDF Even Insect Armageddon is here! I'm surprised; that one's considered one of the weaker (as in; mediocre, not necessarily bad) titles.

This spinoff of the EDF series trades the PS3-esque graphics and single-character gameplay of the mainline games for a bright voxel LEGO aesthetic and a party system that lets you bring up to 4 characters from a roster of dozens, each with different weapons and abilities. The writing and dialogue are terrible (but not in a good way like the other EDF games) but the gameplay is quite good and brings an interesting twist to the series. I am really happy that the game sold well enough that they are working on a sequel to it because I think there is plenty of room for this spinoff series to continue alongside the mainline EDF games!

I've only played this for slightly more than an hour but I already love the game. It's classic EDF but cornier, with a very different art style (looks great in my opinion). There's also an Argentine character, and since I'm not really used to seeing my country represented in videogames, I think it's really cool! The controls are much simpler than the mainline EDF games, so it can be a pretty good entry point to the franchise. It'd also make a great present for a kid.
