Was enjoying the game. All jankeyness aside it was fairly entertaining. However after 30 hours my game crashed and after rebooting all my characters were gone and all progress wiped. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money elsewhere. Update: After posting this review I was contacted by one of the devs regarding my crash and lost progression. And I want to be clear from the outset that never once was the negative review I left mentioned during any communications I had with the individuals working on this game. Their only concern was trying to understand what happened, prevent it from happening again, and hopefully recovering my lost progress. Unfortunately, after talking a bit with one of the engineers, letting them examine all the relevant game files, and with a lot of effort on their part, my lost progress was not recoverable. There was one possibility of recovering my lost saves using system restore to try and get copies before the wipe, but I declined the effort with thanks as I have a friend that offered to power level me. It should be noted as well that my files likely would have been recoverable had I not uninstalled the game after the wipe of frustration, se-lä-vē. Ultimately, and despite not being able to recover my progress, the devs quick response to get in touch with me and genuine desire to try and fix what happened, along with the hard work of the engineer, I would say is more than cause enough to amend my initial review and to recommend this game. Thank you again to Jason, and Warren.

Bought it on sale for 3.00, having a lot of fun with it to be honest. Kinda reminds me of Diablo 1 in some ways, but also like Diablo 2...... DO NOT SELL ITEMS, Disenchant them all, the shards they make ( guaranteed drop from the break down process ) sell for like 10 times what the items themselves sell for and are needed for crafting better weapons and armor. You'll have TONS of money issues till you figure that out.... Usually after your main toon is bumping between levels 30 and 40....which means you wasted THOUSANDS of gold. Your welcome

You create a character, choose a class, choose a race for literally no reason, you raid dungeons, you get showered with sh1tL0ads of loot. Character optimization is mostly gear-centric. You can buy/craft/upgrade weapons. Every character runs as fast as a Lambo can go 0-60 MPH but makes the game fast-paced and super fun. You have an inventory the size of a small country which accounts for the onslaught of loot that'll be fire-hosed directly to your face. Combat plays like Diablo with abilities quick-slotted to the numerical keys. You can configure and automatically switch between ability loadouts/weapons, with 3 fully customizable quick-slot bars/weapons configurations to cycle through. You receive a new ability each level-up. There's NO auto-targeting, so you actually have to use skill to attack, dodge and maneuver on the battlefield. Dungeons take a long time, are labyrinthine, but maintain enough of a freshness to keep you engaged and you don't constantly get a sense of deja vu. In place of having no map, the game uses a beacon system where you can lay down beacons to mark areas you've already been or directions to get out. There is a mini-map but it's small and only shows you a small portion of the complex dungeon you're in. If you die in battle, you simply respawn at the last checkpoint. There's no punishment to dying other than in TPK situations where the boss you were fighting regains 100% of their health. Otherwise, you respawn with full health, all other enemies you killed remain dead, you keep your XP and all your inventory, and you can re-enter a boss battle even if it's still underway with other party members. Co-op is really fun. When you create a party, you can choose between public/private, and you can choose a loot system -- round robin, "smart" round robin (round robin with a proximity modifier), or free-for-all (share nothing, loot everything). I'm sure you noticed that "instanced/shared" was not listed as an option. That's because sharing is only required in pre-school and Communist countries. You can also select the difficulty of the dungeons so long as you're not in a dungeon between 3 difficulty levels -- Normal, Hard and Nightmare -- and the harder the difficulty, the more rare/powerful the loot. If you're experienced with Diablo-style dungeon delvers, start on Hard. If you have a lot of time on your hands, go for Nightmare. Whatever you do, don't waste your time playing Normal. Graphics will bring you back to the good ol' days of 2004-2008 PC gaming. Not so sure that was intentional but either way I do love the motif. Menu system is very efficient and pragmatic. For some odd reason the only map in the game is the mini-map, but no larger map to look at. There's a Journal tab in your inventory for ongoing/completed quest tracking. Look, it's not the most polished game in the whole world. There are glitches, there is a presence of overall jank that'll rear its ugly head now and again, but look at your significant other or ex. Are/were they perfect? Do/did they have to be the most perfect human being on the planet for you to enjoy their company? Do/did you do nothing but focus on their flaws even though they were like, 80% good enough? Well that's probably why you're in the situation you're in, my friend, be it single or in an unhappy relationship. Point is, stop being a dyck -- both to your SO or lack thereof and your video games for Chrissake. You're nothing special either. Trust me. I'd give it 3 thumbs up if I didn't leave one up your girl's pooper. Nooch. <3

Okay... here's my take; The good: -It's a fun dungeon crawler / hack and slash experience. -The graphics are decent enough -You can play for hours and hours and hours -NPC and mob dialogs are humorous if you take the time to listen -Replaying with different character classes and combinations changes the experience -Playing in a party and the 4way split screen makes it even more fun. -It can be played offline, without WiFi, quite easily. So taking it on the Deck with me when I travel and work is a huge positive! -The longer I play it, the more it grows on me! (kinda like mold)... The Bad: -You're going to be grinding the same reset dungeons over and over again to get what you need to take on more powerful mobs and bosses. -For a game that has a 2023 release date, it's unpolished. Literally could have been released in the 90's or early 2000's along side other dungeon crawlers. -Game feels very basic, like DOS-based basic. I got the feeling I've played clones of it, 20 years ago... -Levelling is slow and requires... you guessed it; LOTS of grinding. -Rewards are lackluster and unimpressive for beating bosses. -NPC dialogs are flat, accents are obviously fake, and sound like they're being read off a script-sheet by high-school drama students (and not the talented ones). The Ugly: -Played on the Steam Deck, it crashed and completely locked my Deck functions several times and required hard resets to restore functionality, which completely wipes out progress. -There's no full screen mapping, and in maze dungeons, it means no way to find quest completion points or even know where you explored or have yet to set foot in. At the very least it could benefit from some sort of mini-map shading for untouched zones. -Town visits / interfaces are lackluster and again, very basic and don't belong in a 2023 game... Overall impression; It's a fun dungeon crawler, that kept and will keep me occupied for hours, but I don't mind repeatedly grinding through the same scenes over and over for character leveling. It feels out of date though and could use updating / polishing / improving. It has LOTS of potential overall and with a few tweaks could be an 'A' title, but right now feels more like a 'B' or 'C' at best. It had a lot of nostalgic moments that took me back to some of my first dungeon crawlers like Might and Magic, but for a recent release, it lacks the quality I've come to expect, like Dragon's Dogma, or similar titles. Worth buying on sale. Worth playing, with the understanding that it might get old quick. For something to keep me occupied for a few hours on a plane, or while killing time waiting for something, it's absolutely worth the buy, but don't expect to be blown-away by anything here...

My first session lasted 6 hours and we had a lot of fun taking down 2 dungeons during that time. That alone justifies the seven-fifty I paid. It's similar to Torchlight 2 in that you grind for comps that a blacksmith in town uses to craft you an item of your choice and selected tier, but with random stats You just keep re-rolling until you get the desired stats. At this point in the game we're not re-rolling the 3 epic items that we could afford to have the blacksmith make us. There are 2 more tiers, legendary and eternal, I believe. I never heard of this game before and don't know how it went by my radar, but I like it. I'll try to update this review after I get some sleep and have some extra time.
