I've been using this software for several years, and out of all the different map making/dungeon building programs it seems to be the best in all areas! Sure, when you export to .PNG sometimes some of the items on the map may enlarge in size for some reason, but even with those hiccups, it has allowed me to run several years of campaigns with "hand-made" maps of each area I decided. If the creator of this wonderful program ever reads this, I hope you are doing well and if this is abandoned, I'll accept that. But I would love to see an update soon to fix some stuff, if you aren't too busy of course. To everyone else thinking about buying this program, all I have to say is its $15 bucks and all the assets to download are free so...what do you have to lose? :D

My feelings about this software are complicated. On one hand it is unintuitive, some small features repeatedly break and fix themselves while building maps, the standard assets are not great and this thing hogs more resources than a billionaire who has been told he need to pay his taxes. Despite all this it is still the best mapmaking software I have used, Get yourself the Forgotten Adventure assets which are available for free on their website. Mind you that you will have to sort them yourself so that theyre useable which you do as following: - Download the assets -Break each of them into a folder with their theme name like "FA - Trees" - Then inside there you put a folder called "objects" and place the asset folders that fit the theme in there - It is important that you do not have any folders within the asset folders as this will mess things up (So you structure should look like this: "Trees" folder -> objects folder -> Tree folder A, Tree folder B -> Only have pictures in either of those folders) - Afterwards locate your Steamapps folder and go in this order Steamapps->Steamapps->common->Dungeon Painter Studio->data-> collections - then paste the "Trees" folder into collections And thats it the next time you boot up DS you will have access to the new assets, mind you that this will lengthen the boot time and sometimes makes it seems as if it is crashing due to a "program not responding" error, ignore this and be patient mine boots up after roughly 2 minutes.(Oh btw this can also be done for walls and textures by replacing the objects folder with either "walls" or "textures") Oh and dont use the Version 2 beta, imo it sucks/isn't as good as the original. So to summarize, this programm is like a bucking horse, it will try to throw you off by being unintuitive, poor performance(This can be midigated via grouping assets and turning them invisible when you dont need them) but after you have properly broken it, it is the best map making software I have used.

Good tool. Some suggestions: 1. Read the WIKI on how to make other map resources 2. If you export a map, you "might" want to import it into something like GIMP to compress the image for ROLL20 3. Be sure to use layers to group items for maps. 4. Be careful with larger maps.
