Although I gave this game a thumps up I do recommend playing the original instead of this game. Its fun to play the DD Awakened, new systems feels great the loot is still overwhelming I found myself stuck in the inventory four over an half an hour going though all the loot.. after a while I also found myself ignoring the loot completely. There is some fun to be had in this game especially with friends, however if you played the first or even the second game you should limit you expectations. there is also a fair bit of glitches and bugs nothing game breaking at least not what I noticed. I also can't find the shop like in the original, not sure how to buy gear or if you even can buy gear.

Honestly a good game, not sure what the negative reviews are on about. If you liked DD1 I think you'll like this game!

One of my "pandemic lockdown" games in 2020, clocked over 300 hours then. Recently came back, this is a good semi-afk game; once you have your setup running, it involves a lot of semi-AFK farming for equipment. You can watch videos, do some light reading while this runs on another device. There are still a lot of hands-on situations, such as when transitioning to higher difficulties or maximising your push into higher and higher waves. Comparing this to 2018 Dungeon Defenders 2, I like this more. The progression rate feels reasonable. You don't need to pay to expand your stash either. Currently, there is a Steam guide that really helps new/returning players to adjust to the game. I have to clarify the multiplayer is mostly dead, you'll have to play solo most of the time. Progression doesn't seem to require other players (tested in endgame Massacre Survival Hard Core Rifted). In terms of bugs, there are some, but far fewer than it was in 2020. I still don't know how to reduce some of the blinding flashes from certain defense towers, turning down the graphics settings doesn't get rid of it completely (do take note if you're photosensitive). It also gets quite annoying to have to make multiple of the same characters to serve different purposes, for example one Guardian for Owl Perch towers, another for Obelisk towers. This is mainly for endgame though. Note this game also involves a lot of loot, so if you're not used to ARPGs or games with loot filters, that part might suck for you. It would be better if it had an option auto-start timer for solo Survival farming. Also, having an option auto casting for boost monks/apprentice would be useful too.

I don't have much to say, it's a good game. It's largely just DD1 but feels and looks more modern. Still missing features, but DD1 also was a pretty slow bake over several years so i'm not sure why so many people are wetting their diapers. The game receives fairly regular updates and as is for the price you're getting plenty of game to enjoy. Highly recommend if you have friends to play with. Not bad solo either though.

Honestly, this game is underrated. I have way more fun with this than Orcs Must Die, mostly because of the much better progression systems. The maps look great!
