If you like the board game but don't have friends, that's what you are looking for. It's great to see that they also include the add-ons like "Rise of Ix"

The board game is one of my all time faves, I can't get enough of it, not just because its the DUNE universe, but because it is (in my opionion) a game with a perfect synergy and balance of all its different mechanics, that no game feels like the other. Anyway, this is the best and most faithful digital board game adaption I've seen, EVER. Graphics and sound are minimal but in a slick way, they don't distract you, they help you navigate the different areas of the board, all in all the UI is fantastic. The large selection of tutorials teach you every aspect of the game very well, and its challenges can be super fun (with 1-2 exceptions, looking at you "across the imperium"). The game was made with the idea of perfecting the core gameplay mechanics and it pays off so damn well. Best thing is the AI though.. They can use a wide range of clever tactics, generally make good choices (and sometimes mistakes!). They provide a challenge but they're not unbeatable, honestly it felt very similar to games with humans. All in all, It's a game I'm so glad it exists, and is done so well! 100% recommendation for any digital board game player.

Update edit: They have fixed all of the bugs I mention and more and they have clearly shown that they care about the digital version and want to develop it. Excellent work! Original review: Yes it is a good game and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice mid-heavy board game to get into. I love the solo challenges and events with house rules. The UI is the best board game implementation I have seen. The bots are actually good enough at playing the game. There are some problems though: - Controller support is weak, it is hard to play your intrigue cards and choosing an agent to send to a different space (for example with Kwisatz Haderach) is almost impossible. I play on Steam Deck and sometimes I am forced to use the touch screen to play a card. - Writing in chat is sometimes interrupted by animations. - There are some minor bugs that keep happening, for example turn timer animation keeps on running even after a player ends their turn. - There are some rules inconsistencies like not being able to play intrigue cards when everyone but you passes and not being able play the signet ring card without using the power (sometimes I do not want to draw a card as Paul Atreides). I hope these can be fixed with time and love. I don't know how good Direwolf Digital are at updating their games but I have hope. There seems to be players always online and the game has potential to become even bigger. I am hoping that Rise of Ix will be added soon enough to make the experience even more enjoyable. Better yet, make a digital version of Uprising that is as good as this and I'll buy it instantly. Until then I will happily play this.

A perfect adaption of the virtual board game. Only minor complaint is its hard to come back to the base game after playing with the expansions, however developers confirmed they will be released.

Nice implementation of the tabletop game but has a few issues: - The AI is generally competent, but I feel like a good player will consistently beat it. While it is very strong at placing agents and identifying strong Imperium Row cards, it also buys way too many lowcost cards, clogging its deck in the lategame. It also is very bad at stealing Alliances, ignoring obvious straightforward opportunities. Also, the AI difficulty setting seemed to make little difference to me. - UI is generally good and shows you everything you need, however, the little pop-in showing you which action the AI performed is PRETTY BAD AND NEEDS FIXING! It's always displayed for the same duration, regardless of whether the information it is showing is "Player x draws a card" or "Player x uses card y to send an agent to space z", making it too long for the former and too short for the latter. It also just makes it hard to follow what is going on with the AI-players until you get used to it. Simply including a setting to configure how long it is displayed or an optional mode where information is displayed until the player presses a "Next"-Button would entirely solve this, and it's crazy that this is not in the game yet. - Dune Imperium is a very good game, but Immortality and especially Rise of Ix made it even better, so it's just a shame that they aren't available yet. It's just kind of weird to release a digital version of the basegame without expansions at roughly the same time that the Dune Imperium Uprising, a standalone expansion that can be viewed as somewhat replacing Dune Imperium basegame, is released. All in all this is still very enjoyable tho
