The game is pretty good but could you bring back the before the outbreak but for survival mode? Everything starts 20 hours after the initial outbreak so itd be nice to start from the very beginning and watch everything unfold

I very much enjoyed this, it scratched an itch I've had for a while now, a whole game during the outbreak itself and not 10/20 years down the line. Plays like a far simpler type of Project Zomboid, without all the super realistic details, would be interesting if it did. Love having tons of NPC's running around the city fighting for their lives. The map/areas of the city are far bigger than what i was expecting and i probably only explored about 50/60% of it all. Hard mode should normal mode, didn't find it all that challenging other than at the start getting 2/3 shot by zombies. Campaign can be further refined, campus hordes only attack from one direction instead of all direction, i wasted resources building defences at the other entrances for no reason cuz of this, proper side quest giver markers would be great, cutscenes need to be paced better at times and are too choppy at times and the ending should have been far far harder and forced you to use all or as much of the resources you gathered throughout. So yea, had a lot of fun here and I'm very much looking forward to what comes next from these Devs.

Game got review bombed on launch so I was skeptic at first but I decided to try it after watching some videos on it. DO NOT GO INTO THIS GAME EXPECTING A PROJECT ZOMBOID EXPERIENCE Other than that, this game is surprisingly fun, I have never played a zombie game that's set in the limbo between peace and total apocalypse and this game is exactly that, you are in a city on the verge of being overrun but the military and police are still active in the area and there are fortified survivor camps scattered around the map. The city feels very alive and immersive with the NPCs, the size of city is actually massive and there are tons of areas you can explore. Overall, I'd say it feel rough around the edges but the core gameplay is actually very strong, it's like a mix of project zomboid with 7 days to die. Dev is working like a machine and craking out updates literally everyday, which is insane, for that I have trust in the game's future and look forward to future content.

The game is surprisingly good, but what the Devs need to do is open up the Steam Workshop for modding. This game is prime to be a sandbox. EDIT: Making this addendum because I’m seeing a lot of weirdness surrounding this game. People seem to have come into this game expecting Project Zomboid, a preview to Build 42 or even Build 43. It is not that at all. This game plays like an old school role-playing game from the early 2000s. One of those top down flash games, or more aptly, Dead Frontier single player. There is shockingly little handholding in this game, and it’s clearly set up by people who took more inspiration from survival horror games, like resident evil and silent hill, versus modern zombie games. With an added little bit of balloons tower defense in there because why not. Sometimes, missions start randomly without objective markers or anything, and you have to remember details in order to complete the mission. Other times, the missions are railroaded, but open ended in their solutions. If you play the campaign mode, you have to understand that you are playing an actual story with set pieces. It’s not like Skyrim where the story is just a suggestion. It has very engaging gameplay. If you know what you’re getting into, and that gameplay, as I said before is old school survival horror. What I mean by that, is every encounter you see is a puzzle, every level you see is a deliberate set piece with a puzzle solution. I do not want to spoil it, but there was one very interesting encounter I had in a mission I stumbled upon by happenstance (and that encounter was another sub story within that mission that the game doesn’t explain to you with anything other than the situation physically present on the screen,), and the solution was very interesting because the game was trying to teach me to use throw weapons like pipe bombs. The game doesn’t directly tell you that, you only realize it because any other way you keep dying because you don’t have the ammunition, or the skill, in order to do it any other way. That is very old school, that is not something you see these days. It is very rare that a game comes out these days, and it relies on your intelligence and your problem solving instead of conforming to your gameplay habits. If that is not something you’re used to, then this game is gonna be a bit of a shock. The reason this game has bad graphics is because it is trying to optimize performance. There could be upwards of 1200 zombies on the screen at one time, and the developers have to ask themselves what is actually important. Is it better to have super detailed models that look really good or is it better to have low detailed models that don’t lag the game when there’s lots of zombies on the screen? The game looks good where it needs to, in the Art style grows on you if you let it. When I realized what the game was trying to go for, old-school survival horror with puzzle elements, I found the graphics to be quite charming and endearing. The gameplay is not at all like project Zomboid, you have to think of it as a top down flash game. I tried playing this game like Zomboid for a while, and I wasn’t having fun. When I started playing it like a flash game, with the mindset of resident evil, it started to be very fun and very engaged. As I said before, this game revolves around the puzzle. Every encounter you find is a problem, and the puzzle is a solution to that problem while using the least amount of resources as possible, and game doesn’t tell you the solutions to these problems, you have to come up with them on your own. That is the best way to do survival horror, and if that’s not your thing, you’re just not gonna like this game.

First thing first, the game is quite atmospheric. And by that I mean, the game's setting and atmosphere can be VERY immersive and scary at times. The potential is there and that's the problem...you can tentatively feel there's a great game inside, different than the slow, methodical Project Zomboid. Things can get super duper hairy in a cinematic way (which feels awesome at times) some scripted some not but when things come together it's out of this world. NPCs from soldiers to future-victims act the way they should and some npc surprises me with what they can do, crafting and whatever never strike me as essential in this genre but its there. Alot of freedom to roam around, though very little of interests can be found. Bottom line: Pretty good....if it's an early access title. Because Dev, you have a potential homerun here, POTENTIAL (which is an apt word to describe this game) if this is the final product then it's a no go baby. Work on the game more, come on you've come this far, it's a shame to let it go unpolished. Nevertheless I recommend the game anyway, if just to experience it. There are some moments that happen quite like magic...some narrow escapes feel like they might be scripted but I'm not so sure, when things went right in this game it feels like no other. P.S: Add Multiplayer...you'll make money, believe me.
