Really fun roguelite with a few caveats. Pros: - The game just FEELS fun once you get the controls down. Its fun to move around, guns are fun to shoot, the environment is fun to destroy and navigate. It's just fun. - Fun and engaging gameplay with a good skill ceiling - A lot of weapon and item variety - Solid synergy between the systems going on. Not quite to the degree of Binding of Isaac, but good enough to still be very fun - Boss variety, especially with the DLC - Good character variety - Really cool graphic style that has a lot of care and detail put into it. Cons: - There are a lot of bugs. Mostly really minor things/slight inconveniences that are avoidable once you know about them - Occasionally run-ending bugs. This has only happened to me 4 times in all my time with the game, and they were all clustered within 2 play sessions. It's possible they were fixed since it hasn't happened since. - Lack of polish in some areas of gameplay. Things that aren't necessarily broken, but could've used more time/attention. If you can look past the cons, it's an excellent roguelite. Personally I think it's one of, if not THE most fun roguelite that I've played to date. Certainly my favorite twin stick shooter. If the remaining bugs ever get fixed I'd give it a 10/10 for its genre.

The description does not do this game justice, the pixel art is some of the best I've ever seen, up there with the Mega Man X and Metal Slug series.

Just got this on sale, honestly so pleased with the result. A great roguelike ... BUT -Fix the character menu, the UI is just frustrating on controller -PLEASE add multiplayer. Even with 2-3 players max, this would make it such a riot. -I never beat World 1, but still unlocked the second character for beating World 1 (I'm not even mad about it, but I know it's a bug because the portrait is grayed-out) -Why does the pistol for the starter character randomly have Ricochet? It doesn't really help much and is very distracting -The UI in general for most of the menus on controller is very indirect and needs work, especially the Meta Perks menu. -Why on earth would you invert the controls for the Map view? Baffled lol. Otherwise, with some tweaks like they have been doing, this is really impressive and original. Well done, devs :)

A good time where the game doesn't mind you breaking it with funny combos.

One of my favorite twin-stick shooter roguelites is Neon Chrome, and I've been looking for a game to satisfy that itch. I believe I found it in Doomsday Hunters. I think this game is fantastic, and the developer is constantly updating it. Even plans to add workshop mod support. The sheer number of weapons, pickups, power-ups, perks, skills, etc., and enemy variety is worthy of trying, and there's a demo available too. Give yourself a little time to get used to the perspective, but once it clicks, I think you'll find it challenging and fun. I recommend reading the Steam guides. The game works great via Crossover for Mac as well — if any fellow Mac users are curious.
