I do hope they remake this. Because I really do want this game to connect to the original story somehow. DOOM 3 is good. It also amps the horror aspect for doom as well. I couldn't tell you how many times were I didn't want to go into a room, walk through a hall way, or Go through a portal Just be jump scared by a head spider or flying babies. So yeah good game all-around.

Great game, some of you youngins' that are comparing this game poorly against Doom 2016 may not realize this game and it's engine came out approx 20 years ago, it was one of the first games that actually supported a working GPU, supporting Hardware T&L, you may not realize this game was a pioneer with that and in its time, it was very damn impressive.. Of course it won't stack up to a game that came out over a decade later. That's just advances in technology for ya, great game!

DOOM³: A True Hellish Masterpiece and the Pinnacle of Horror Gaming As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of the horror genre, I can wholeheartedly attest to the fact that DOOM³ is the definitive horror experience. With its immersive atmosphere, heart-pounding sound design, and intense gameplay, DOOM³ stands head and shoulders above its contemporaries and even the newer entries in the franchise. It is, without a doubt, a true Hellish masterpiece that I have had the pleasure of experiencing, and I wholeheartedly give it a perfect score of 10/10. From the moment you step into the shoes of the unnamed space marine and set foot on the nightmarish Martian installation, you are engulfed in a world of dread and despair. The game's masterful use of darkness and shadow creates a palpable sense of uncertainty and fear, making every corner and ventilation duct a potential threat. Your flashlight, serving as your only source of light, becomes a double-edged sword - while it illuminates your path, it also leaves you vulnerable to the horrors lurking in the darkness. The demonic forces that you face throughout the game are grotesque, twisted, and genuinely terrifying. From the relentless, sprinting Imp to the towering, monstrous Cyberdemon, each creature is meticulously designed and animated to elicit fear and unease. The use of visceral, gory animations and sound effects intensifies the experience, leaving a lasting impression on players long after they've completed the game. One of the most notable aspects of DOOM³ is its groundbreaking use of dynamic audio and environmental effects. The ambient noises and sound cues create an ever-present feeling of tension, ensuring that the player is always on edge. The voice acting, particularly the frantic logs and messages recorded throughout the facility, further enhance the narrative and provide context to the hellish events unfolding around you. Additionally, DOOM³ is a game that truly shines in the gameplay department. The fast-paced, visceral combat encounters are exhilarating, providing a genuine sense of empowerment while simultaneously challenging your skills and reflexes. The game mechanics are fluid and intuitive, allowing for seamless interactions with the environment and a wide variety of satisfying weapon choices. Despite the release of several newer games in the DOOM franchise, DOOM³ remains unparalleled in its ability to create a truly immersive, horrifying experience. While the newer titles offer their share of thrills and excitement, they lack the tightly-crafted, focused horror elements that make DOOM³ stand out as a unique and unforgettable foray into the realm of gaming terror. In conclusion, DOOM³ is a game that I would highly recommend to any fan of the genre or anyone looking for a truly hellish, unforgettable experience. Its exceptional level design, impressive visual and audio presentation, and gripping gameplay mechanics make it a must-play for horror enthusiasts and gamers alike. I wholeheartedly give DOOM³ a perfect score of 10/10 and rank it among my all-time favorite gaming experiences.

This game doesn't get a fair shake. I think both as a doom game and horror shooter its great I actually suggest people play the BFG version over the first release as its the easiest way to get the game running. This release includes the first 2 doom games and ROE, the lost missions. As a note he first 2 doom games in this release are capped at 30 fps Also some stuff the BFG Edition does to doom 3 Adds flashlight on armor more ammo check points graphics upgrade This does take the game down in tone of horror but regardless the world building and gameplay are still well worth it.

This game is severely underrated. I would consider DOOM 64 the official DOOM 2.5 and because of that, DOOM 3 seamlessly fits in with the whole franchise, because in both games, there is a greater emphasis on survival horror rather than a psychedelic, synth metal, run and gun shooter like the first two DOOM games are. It could have been a MUCH better game though to be honest with you... My biggest complaint is that they F*CKED UP THE SHOTGUN!!! You just DON'T DO THAT ID SOFTWARE! And uh... All the guns are quiet... So it feels like you are using nerf guns from hell. But a nerf gun from hell is still just a f*cking nerf gun... IDK guys, they must have been taking some strange concoction of both speed and opiates to make that decision. Another instance where drugs are bad when informing creativity. Also, discovering the codes for certain doors was an unnecessary waste of time with a very clunky lore system that is forced upon you if you don't want to just google the codes. They should have simply made you find keys if they wanted to kill your buzz so badly like the classic DOOM games, then no one would have cause for complaint because it's already part of the formula, but this project was made in the age of regressive innovation apparently. Other than those potentially fatal flaws, I wouldn't miss out on this title if you are a fan of DOOM or scifi/ horror shooters. Gunning down demons with your nerf weapons from hell in a claustrophobic and dark AF Mars space station just feels right. Every corner you turn and door you open increases your heart rate as you turn your flashlight on and off and on again, never really knowing what's next, searching every little area for supplies, and getting occasionally jump-scared by the onslaught of satanic zombie fukkernauts. It's the kind of game that makes you grit your teeth and say "Bring it on ya bastidz." The whole experience was excellent and I am looking forward to playing the DLC and possibly trying the main campaign on Nightmare difficulty, because the combat, although somewhat odd to get used to, is uniquely fun and badass. It's almost like this installment of DOOM came out of an alternate universe though, I can't figure out why. Maybe it's the attempt at realism that makes it appear uninspired compared to other DOOM games or other titles released at the time? It's unfortunate because the atmosphere is impeccable. Dare I say that the level design in DOOM 3 inspired Dead Space? I give this one a 7.5/10 - As much as I like it, there are some definite flaws with it, but it's not nearly as bad as its reputation. DOOM 3 is like being with an "experienced" albeit loose woman. Yeah, she could be tighter, but the sex still qualifies as more than decent. Thank you, id software, for this crackwhore of a game.
