Don't Knock Twice - A Short Yet Thrilling Horror Experience “An engaging mix of urban legend and VR horror.” Don't Knock Twice is a first-person horror game that draws inspiration from a terrifying urban legend. The game is designed to be played in VR, offering an intense experience that truly immerses players in its spooky atmosphere. With a premise that revolves around the chilling idea of knocking twice to awaken a vengeful spirit, the game delivers a variety of jump scares that keep you on edge. Atmosphere and Immersion The game excels in creating a haunting atmosphere, particularly in VR. The environments are crafted to enhance the feeling of dread, and the sound design plays a crucial role in building tension. The experience is genuinely immersive, making it one of the standout VR horror titles on Steam. Gameplay and Mechanics While the game is relatively short—typically taking around 1 hour and 40 minutes to complete—it manages to deliver some memorable scares. The gameplay consists mainly of exploration, puzzle-solving, and collecting items to progress the story. However, some players may find the mechanics to be simplistic and the challenges to be lacking, as the game offers little in terms of difficulty. Graphics and Performance Graphically, Don't Knock Twice is decent but may not impress everyone. While the environments are creepy and the design is well thought out, the graphics can feel a bit bland at times. There are also minor bugs and issues with physics that can detract from the overall experience. Final Verdict In conclusion, Don't Knock Twice is an enjoyable horror game, especially for VR users. It provides a blend of jump scares and eerie moments that create a captivating experience. If you're a fan of horror games or the film it's based on, this game is worth your time, especially when on sale. Just keep in mind that the non-VR experience may feel lacking in comparison. Fun VR horror game to play during the Halloween season, but very short and definitely not worth the full price. With the 80% discount it has right now I say go for it

6.8 out of 10 (7.8 out of 10 in VR) Pros: Intense and immersive in VR, genuinely good jump scares and a fun Haunted House Simulator. Cons: Extremely short, ludicrously easy (very little challenge), bland graphics, and wonky physics/bugs. Verdict: Don't Knock Twice is a experience worth having - it is genuinely spooky in places, and keeps you on your toes as you explore it's haunted house. In the short 1hr 40 minutes or so it typically takes to beat - the game throws achievements at you and offers the ability to be played in either VR or traditionally with a controller or K&M. VR mode is the star of the show, and Don't Knock Twice is one of the better VR horror offerings on STEAM. In non-VR however, the game is a solid but mediocre experience with poor graphics, alot of odd environmental bugs, and not alot of replayability beyond a unimportant multiple-choice ending. Don't Knock Twice is still a fun but flawed little experience should you not play it with a headset... but VR and motion controls are where the game becomes a blast. I highly recommend that if you are NOT going to play Don't Knock Twice in VR, that you wait for a DEEP SALE (less than $7), because $20 is far too much for a game this short (and without VR the experience is nerfed). In non-VR the game is still really unsettling and enjoyable for what it is, but certainly not meaty enough to justify that full price.

A pretty short horror game that I'd feel works better as a VR title. I only say that since otherwise it essentially boils down to a walking simulator with a handful of jump scares. It's not a bad game and it has a decent idea behind the story of it, but you have to speed through your relationship with your daughter and why your house is now haunted. If you want to give it a go then I'd say $5 is probably my recommend point.

Unfortunately there is no neutral rating so I am giving the thumbs up because isn't a horrible game. It is a very very short almost like a walking sim (because the game is so linear), you can even finish it in under 1 hour, and it's not tense nor scary at all.
