Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King developer by Digital Eclipse and Published by Disney, Nighthawk Interactive brings back many memories for me, I remember having one heck of time trying to get copies of these games as a kit from my local BlockBuster and wow, they were hard, but fun, from what I see most of the ports here are from the Sega System, so some of the things I remember are a tad different than what is in this set of games, but again, it plays well, its fun, and its classic Disney, so its just fun they way it should be.

First, let me get a few things straight about this game: - Anyone who states that this pack doesn't contain Aladdin: Press the right button on the select screen. The menu defaults to the SNES version of Aladdin (which is a completely different version), sold separately as DLC with the Jungle Book game, so I kinda understand the confusion. The UI is not very user-friendly; one might even say... predatory? - Speaking of predatory: this game is WAY overpriced. If you're interested, buy it when it's 50% or 75% off. Now, after the preamble, let's look at the good things about this pack: - Contains the Sega version of Aladdin, the new "Final Cut" version, the demo, and the horrendous handheld versions thrown in for extra - Contains both the Sega AND SNES versions of The Lion King, as well as the handheld versions - You can now SAVE your game! - A very neat and useful rewind feature, which mitigates a lot of frustration with these games (similar to the one in PoP: Sands of Time, but with infinite uses) - Custom screen filters like CRT and LCD - Full game playthroughs, where you can jump in at any point and play - Lots of interesting extras in the Museum, like concept art, videos, and interviews - OSTs included As for the games, Aladdin is still an awesome classic, and The Lion King is still as infuriatingly difficult as it was 30 years ago. But with the new features, it's now possible to get closure for your childhood.

Some of the reviews don't mention all of the versions of the two games you actually get without the DLC. For the Aladdin game, you get the Genesis, GameBoy, GameBoy Color, Final Cut, Demo, and Japanese versions. For the Lion KIng game you get the SNES, Genesis, GameBoy, GameBoy Color, and Japanese versions. All playable without the DLC. Not easy to find, but they're all there. To access the console versions, before pressing play a second time, you press the right directional button (or the corresponding keyboard key) to select them. They're not named by the actual platform name, for instance, the Genesis versions are called "Console S" and the SNES versions are called "Console N". Pressing right more times will show the other versions mentioned. The handheld versions (Game Boy Bonus Games) are accessed with the Y button and then the right directional button. The SNES version of the Aladdin game is missing, but I only played the Sega Genesis version of Aladdin (which is included in the base game) anyway, so I'm quite happy with what I got.

A good collection of games ( it contains multiple versions of each of the 2 games ). The rewind functionality is very good and the visuals, especially on Aladdin, are still holding up. The gameplay is smooth, but still holds some of the unreliability it used to have from back then to some parts of the games. Personally i liked also very much the addition of being able to play the soundtracks independently and the museum section. Runs flawlessly on the Steam Deck. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good amount of nostalgia.

People often ask where do I get my perseverance in the face of constant failures from, or in other words, how to keep playing Sekiro with extra handicap? Well, when you play Aladdin in MS-DOS with no saves and re-spawns if you die and no internet or cheats to help you out, you become a man. The amount of days to figure out that I had to break the diamond with apple in the water dungeon whatever level it was, was absolutely too long. I will try to complete it again if I don't get PTSD attack first.
