Discolored is a cool concept, poorly executed. A good puzzle requires two things: a problem to solve, and clues to help you solve it. Clues can come in many forms, depending on the type of puzzle - a cipher key, object or shape associations, environmental design, etc. - but they should be there. Unfortunately, at least half the puzzles herein lack any sort of clue, forcing the player to either walk around with an inventory item held in front of themselves trying to interact with things, or use one of the two hint systems, one of which is walking around with another inventory item held in front of themselves trying to interact with things (which was another cool concept, poorly executed). A few of the puzzles cleverly revealed clues as colored elements, only visible when those colors were restored, and it's a shame this wasn't implemented more broadly. If you like puzzle games I'd still recommend playing to experience its potential, but it isn't a great game, and I hesitate to even call it a good game. It's not, however, a bad game, and it's trying something new, and dammit, sometimes that's all I need.

Discolored was a really cool experience and I'm glad I decided to try it out. Some puzzles were a bit harder than others and I did have to search for help at one point but for the most of them it's pretty doable. However, I was really bothered by the forced animations when going up or down ladders (attic, basement and tower) and when I had to replay the story multiple times to get some of the harder achievements they really were in the way.

I give this game a loose recommendation. This game has a really cool concept with puzzles that aren't too easy or too hard. That being said, it's PAINFULLY short. Despite getting stumped a couple of times, I still beat this in 88 minutes. It also only has one map, making it feel more like a demo that an actual full release. I got this while it was on sale for around 2 bucks, which I would say is about what it's worth.

Fun little game. Nice atmosphere and music. The puzzles were different compared to your average puzzle game like this, and not too hard. I needed a hint twice but did most of it on my own. Took me two hours to complete. A nice game to pass a couple of hours.

Short game with interesting, "Twilight Zone-like" atmosphere, in which you have to bring color back to the world and, ultimately, change it from night back to day. My niggle would be this requires a lot of random hunting and pecking to find what to do next (the hint menu helps) but for $2.79 there is plenty of bang for your buck here. Thumbs up!
