That's how you make a game. The core first, then improve visuals. Features lots of stuff DTG are failing to deliver. And thankfully it's not UnrealEngine :)

A little gem: the greatest immersivity among the train simulators I have run. It does a few things, but it does them greatly: only diesel cars (no steam, no electric), only England (unless some user adds routes from other countries) and (almost) only from the Sixties. But: - the `feeling` of the mass (and of the dynamics) involved is great - the 'response' of the vehicles is very realistic (I don't know enough of train physics to tell how 'real' it is, but it certainly looks like it is) - the controls are accurate - everything can be controlled by keyboard, which avoids the need to look away from the route to 'aim' at specific controls all over the place and operate them with the mouse, which (unreasonably, on a PC) affects many other train simulators The quality of the graphics has been criticised: IMHO if you spend time looking at the quality of water reflections, you shouldn't drive a train! (probably you will enjoy some other game more) The programme does not waste resources on eye candies, but focus on simulation. The number of routes provided is small, but with a large number of time tables and with the re-playability of each increased by the interaction with AI trains (often meaning red lights!) which are never precisely the same; and a number of additional routes is available in the workshop. Summary: if simulation is your genre, in general and of trains in particular, BUY IT! it is worth any penny.

This is a beautiful rail sim. The physics are fantastic, the graphics are really good. There is a save function so you can continue your journey at will. There is a good editor to make your own routes and timetables. And AI trains! You never feel lonely on track. I am coming from Simrail, which is maybe a bit better graphic-wise, but is still far from complete. Has no save feature, no AI trains in single player scenarios and no editor. This game is a complete rail sim gem. Highly recommended!

This is a grand game. A delightfully implemented simulator. The graphics are a little dated but still decent. The physics is excellent. Controls are not exactly intuitive but you can remap to whatever you want. It sort of supports Raildriver. There is a bit of variety in trains and a few routes in the workshop. It has all the things you want like if you SPAD it is your problem (enjoy that head on).

A really good simulator of the UK diesel era. There have been regular free updates and the game goes from strength to strength. A little know gem, better than some of the better known train simulators, though I've got them all because they are all so different. This one specialises in diesel railcars with the changing gears system which is fun to drive. There is also a Class 37. Easy to learn but hard to master.
