game play and pace are good to spend some time to enjoy it. pace is quite fast and each run ain't too long or too short, dice pool are very big with numerous mechanic to play and most of them have their own use (some are quite weak so I don't pick them though), include option to custom dice so custom dice deck also enjoyable too. only shortcoming I would point out would be boss stage, since most of them only effect score so which boss to face don't matter much, it would be better if their mechanic could make different for each run.

Fun game, only major issue for me is that if you put it on 4x speed and have a strong card summoning build, the flashing lights of each card summon is problematic. I am not epileptic, but even so I have to stop looking at my screen when I start to summon 100+ cards a turn, which would take forever on anything but 4x animation speed

One of the most addicting gameplay loops I have experienced since Balatro. I feel it is even better than Balatro at making it feel like your options are really diverse as well as the diversity in bosses. The art direction is amazing and really helps immerse you into the gameplay. Tons of replay value as well. At the price this game is a complete STEAL! GRAB IT NOW!!

Before I go forward, I'd like to provide some help for English speaking players: Dice "types" refers to the rolls that are scored. Basic "types" are the rolls that only include one number and Advanced "types" are those with multiple. For example, scoring a single six is a basic "type", whereas scoring a full house is an Advanced "type". Choice and Harmony both refer to Advanced "types". Choice is anything goes, Harmony is five of the same. Those terms really confused me when I started playing. Fun and engaging for sure, but with a few flaws. Everyone's comparing it to Balatro, and it's obviously been inspired by that, so I will as well. The main one is the translation and clarity of effects. What is a dice type? What does choice mean? The glossary helps, but if I have to keep going to the glossary, that makes the game feel a lot less fun. I think the poor translation is part of it, but also, since Yahtzee (which this is based on) terms are not as well known as poker "hands", it makes it a lot more confusing to try and understand what the dice effects do. Part of the fun of Balatro is the "easy to pick up, complex to master" vibe. With these kinds of card games, part of the fun is being able to just slam move after move on instinct without much thinking, especially in the early game. The dice add another level of complexity, and not necessarily a fun one. With dice that take effect while in the bag, and the various auras and other modifiers, it takes a lot more brainpower to play at a level that feels good. The UI is a little off. It's got a retro punkish vibe that lacks polish which is exacerbated by the poor machine translations. There's a lot of animations that feel very "powerpoint"-esque, such as those after you win a match. The fact that the final scores are shown on the scoreboard, but not the multipliers means that you have to keep hovering over the scoreboard to determine what to aim for. Overall, I'm recommending it because the gameplay can definitely get there. It's no Balatro, but it'll scratch a similar itch. However, there's a LOT to get over before you can really have fun with the game, from poor translations, to confusing interactions and effects, and just the fact that Yahtzee is just a different, less instinctual game than poker.

As a 250+ hour Balatro player (across PC and Switch), I had to give this game a try. On the surface it feels like just another Balatro clone, in Yacht format, but over time you start to realize it's a lot more than just that. Boost your point values and multipliers, and beat ever increasing target scores to win, with 3 bosses to defeat each run. However rather than Jokers, your "deck" has all of your passive/active effects that boost your score further; each die has different effects that can trigger based on the number it rolls, or the hand (dice type) you play, or even active effects you can manually trigger when you need it most. There is alot of variety for building your deck of dice, whether it be to focus on a specific hand to play or focusing on other mechanics. Want to focus on scoring only on the Twos line? Maybe just go wild rolling and always score on Choice? Better yet, maybe focus on just permanently increasing your multipliers and point values across the board and on your dice? It's all possible. While Balatro has 150 Jokers to build around, DPO has alot more than that in dice effects to unlock and build around. As of this review, this game is definitely in a rough state as far as the English translation goes. I've heard the developer is not natively English so I understand, but hopefully this is something that can be improved on soon. Dice descriptions have inconsistencies in formatting, game terms, and some effects are hard to understand until you play them enough times. It took me a while to realize that dice "gaining points" was only temporary while you had the die out for that round. Also had dice effects that say "when a # is rolled" and took me way too long to figure out that it had to be that particular die that had to roll the number it had listed on that effect. Calling the different scoring categories "dice types" is also very confusing, because to me "dice types" sounds more like it's referring to the different types of each die I have. Just needs more consistency in effect text. The game feels good to play, but in my opinion the game feels "off" in appearance. I get the feeling some of the images on dice and other elements may be AI generated. Not exactly a con for me, but may be for others, just something to keep in mind. Hopefully I'm wrong on that, but I just get that feeling often when I see the dice art. Overall a great game with a lot of replayability, and I'll surely be playing this one every so often in between my Balatro runs. Might take some getting used to, but I highly recommend it.
